Vinyl stickers would be what I'd use. They're quite simple to apply, nice to the touch, and would allow you to revert to a standard setup pretty painlessly.

Thanks for pointing out the problems with these spray-on sunscreens. I use the adult version on myself when I go gallivanting out in the Taipei sun, which is still pretty hard, and it works great.

Thanks for your testimonials. I had read some on the previous posts concerning this topic, but it's nice to see them here.

As to my experience with bilingualism, I am actual trilingual. I was born in Germany, lived there for 7 years, moved to France, lived there 4 years, before settling in Quebec. I speak English, French and German.

It's important for at least one parent to speak the main language to the child, because children get confused, especially when they are young. As an example, my parents used to speak an Indian language to me at home before I went to Kindergarten, and I spoke it as well, but when I went to school it didn't work out as everything was in German. My parents had to switch to German at home. I still speak German to my family, even if they tend to reply in English.

I'm also an ESL teacher, and have been doing that for about a decade. I have been teaching ESL in Taiwan for the last 5 years, to students as young as 1.5 and up to 12 years old.

I recently got a MacBook Pro 17 after having never had one (my previous laptop was an ASUS W7m). I have to say that my Asus looks like a POS compared to the MacBook. Granted, the MBP17 (highest spec) cost about $1K more, but the build quality, battery life, screen, etc, was much better.

That's not saying that there are good PC laptops. There are a lot of them.

I read a lot as well and prefer buying my books IRL instead of ebooks. In fact, I read ebooks when the physical book are unavailable. Ebooks are pretty useful for classbooks, textbooks, and research books as well. I'll have to buy an iPad bc of that.

While I do browing, I usually have authors that I follow, so no matter what the format, I'll be able to get their new books. I do like to rummage through books at the book stores I go to and buy stuff that interests me.

That was actually my plan for this year as well, but since my MBP is from late 2010, it's still doing fine. Still, updating RAM and getting rid of the Superdrive is a seriously interesting option for those of us who have older macs.

While I usually spend the most on my computer, and yes I will be getting a Mac Pro when I move back home to the US, I am considering buying some Herman Miller furniture, including the Airia desk and Embody chair.

When you spend hours and hours in front of your computer, it's important that it's a comfortable space.

I attain Inbox Zero every day. Almost every single email is archived. GReader Zero is also attained every day; I wouldn't be able to work otherwise. I don't use the other services all that much, so it's not an issue.

It still took me about 6 months to attain Inbox Zero. It's hard work, depending on how much email you receive everyday. If you get more than 100, it's hard to accomplish.

I dislike the iPad/iPhone App concept. I like instally my own software on my computing devices, no matter what Apple thinks about it.

@Angela I deal with customers all of the time thanks to a bike business. I use email to work with my clients and they're extremely satisfied with my response time. In fact, it's usually a lot faster than anyone else's. The trick is to address the emails right away. It works well for me and others, but it's not for everyone.

Yep, but not everyone is in customer service.

"Letting emails go", means that you don't wait to receive emails all of the time. It's a turn of phrase that was used specifically for this post. You're letting go of the importance of emails. Are 100% of your emails important? Probably not. There's a small percentage that requires immediate replies and answers. A lot of people constantly check into their inbox to see if they've received any emails. That is what was intended with this post.

You're entitled to your opinion.

What to Look For In A Laptop Purchase
9/20/10 8:47 AM

Yep, upgrading RAM yourself is a lot cheaper. Getting last year's laptop is also a good idea. I've done it myself.

If I get a MacBook later this year, I'll certainly purchase an extended warranty since I'll be getting a MacBook Pro 17.

For my previous laptops, Asus W7M and Compaq, I didn't purchase one.

I found that if you are used to carrying a DSLR around everyday, it's not much of an issue. Since I got one a few years ago, I stopped taking pics with my cell phone. It's a questions of getting used to the weight and size.

Nice collection guys. I like how neatly you've stacked your pens and pencils. I took mine at night, and it was hard to get everything right. Plus, I had to use a stand-in camera, as I took my photo with a D200. In the photo is my wife's old Fuji S2 Pro.

It seems that the foopod might not be compatible, but the GPS sensor is more than adequate in my opinion, unless you really need to know more details about your training run. The quickrelease is compatible though.

Hi, if you check out this comprehensive review by Rainmaker,
http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2009/11/garmin-edge-500-in-depth-review.html

You'll see that the Edge is compatible with the Quickrelease and the Foopod used with the 310XT. While I haven't tried it yet, I have ordered these accessories and will report myself.
