This post makes it sound way more complicated than it has to be. I sold my iPad(1) right before Christmas on ebay for $400. And Apple was not still carrying it at the time. It was really easy and I was surprised that anyone would pay that much for a used first generation rather than shell out an extra $100 for a new iPad2. (Is it collectible or something?) Regardless, it was extremely easy and quick. I actually think it's easier to sell on ebay (skip craigslist only because people try to haggle) than to sell to a friend or co-worker, where you might feel obligated to sell for less.

Our next apartment will have

washer/dryer in the unit
dishwasher
backyard space
the same charm as our current place

Your title and post implies that these bed styles are the best choice for the given wallpapers, but you are not explaining why these bed styles and wallpapers are a perfect match; just merely showing nice photographs. On the last few posts you begin to touch on the why, but the first posts give no indication of what makes these beds and wallpapers a "perfect match". It's not good enough to say, "they just do," and it's not good enough to post pretty pictures. As a designer I want you to support your assertions. (I don't necessarily disagree with you, I'm just looking for more depth).

No no no. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Bar soap is not necessarilly more ecological! Sure packaging and what not, but if you buy a bar soap made with palm oil you are helping destroy precious Bornean Orangutan habitat. These orangutans are higly endangered and need our help. Please avoid palm oil in cosmetics and food. And for that matter, teak furniture...unless it is FSC.

Great space. I say, float the sofa, facing the fireplace. Instead of two chairs and a coffee table, I would use a bench or two ottomans. You can use those pieces as extra seating or as tables. If you have room, place the dining table in front of the double windows. Make it compact with two chairs, and have the extra chairs placed elsewhere, but ready for dinner guests. Maybe get a half sofa/half chaise as your main sofa to keep the room open and uncluttered. Also, this would be a good option if you want to put a screen on the opposite wall. I would advise to get pieces that you can move around easily if you want to be able to use your projector. Or just project above the fireplace...smaller space, but would still work. Keep the walls white and you don't even need a screen.

Thrilled to have this recipe. I miss Ireland so much. Went there on my honeymoon and it was wonderful. Can't wait to try these.

None of these things are trends. Wall decals? I personally don't care for them, but they're not a trend they are just another item to fill wall space. It's like saying art hung on walls is passe. Suzanis? So my grandma had some style sense a couple years out of 50, but now, she better return her rugs and quilts to the middle east. Suzani patterns and Persian rugs/items are part of my cultural heritage, not part of a trend that is defined according to someone's whimsy. Chalkboard walls are practical and utilitarian in many senses. If chalkboard paint is no longer acceptable, when are shower curtains going "out?" Cowhide/animal print: Same basic answer as suzani. It's just a matter of taste. They've always been around, and I never regarded them as trendy or not trendy. And gray...this is the most ridiculous. When is a color out of style? I mean really. I'd like to see blue go out of style. That'll be the day.

Long story short, "trends" are phony and only defined to make people buy buy buy. Chunky heels in, chunky heels out, chunky heels in again.

I really want to apply for the blogger position, but would find it difficult to post about trends, mostly because I don't believe they exist.

@Philip_Littel: I have a Trek. (Not an allant. It was a gift, so I don't know exactly). It's a beauty and it's 24 speed.

I'm not an expert, but what I do know about bikes is this: buying a $$$bike without gears is a waste. The only bike worth paying for looks alone is PeeWee's.

And be careful putting a basket in front of your handles. Can get in the way of steering and can pinch your brake lines.

Don't forget to empty out the trash can!
