Yep! White trash it is. Our version is stick pretzels, peanuts and Honeycomb cereal.
Recipe:
1. Melt one bag or so of white chocolate or almond bark
2. Pour over a bowl of crunchy stuff
3. Mix to coat, being careful not to crunch up too many pieces
4. Pour out in a thin layer on a cookie sheet or three, lined in wax paper
5. Wait until chocolate sets and break apart
(if you want to get fancy-pants you could melt some dark chocolate and drizzle it over the pans prior to breaking)
6. Serve to your adoring public

I recently froze raw butternut squash cubes and then roasted them a few weeks later. They took a little longer and didn't brown as well, but otherwise there was absolutely no difference between fresh and frozen. I have a new squash cubed and frozen now, ready to use!

I would do a tri-candy collection:
start with chocolate dipped pretzels or mini-ritz peanut butter sandwiches or small squares of rice krispie treat

and peppermint bark

and puppy chow/muddy buddies (whatever you call it).

a bonafide winner for everyone!

Not that I doubt your cooking skill or the greatness of your kitchen, but I would suggest ordering out for the main meal at least, and re-plating it in the kitchen. Perhaps from your favorite Thai spot?

When my now in-laws met my folks for the first time, I really wanted to be in the room at all times with them, just in case, you know. And this way everyone can get what they want (his mom is a reeeeaally picky eater).

Make a fabulous desert ahead of time, and just enjoy the fun!

I've got a great recipe too, my mom's side of the family is from Milroy IN. It's the famous "Durbin Inn Sugar Cream Pie" recipe. But, as with Kendra, I'm at work too, sans recipe box.

Will post tonight and we can compare!

I gave my family gifts from a worldvision-esque source last year and everyone enjoyed them so much I'll be doing it again this year. My church puts out a catalog to give to all the missions they are associated with.

I try to match each sort of gift to the person it's going to, for example - my father is a contractor, so I donated bricks to build a school for an orphanage in Uganda. My mom was always the PTA president, so I got her a year of school for a girl in Thailand. My little brother, well, he's annoying so I got him a goat! He loved it!

It's definitely a Mulberry. I just made a pie last weekend since the bush out front was ripe. If you decide to make a pie, I would suggest mixing with half raspberries. The mulberries are pretty tart by themselves.
