I just wanted to say that you all have given very thoughtful and encouraging responses-it has been a pleasure reading through each of them and I thank you all for the advice you gave the OP.

I would echo the posters who have suggested that you take it easy for a week or so. When i get in a slump or am so busy that the thought of cooking makes me want to weep with exhaustion, I simplify-I make wraps, chow down on hummus, make strawberry salads-I want to ensure that I'm not getting in the habit of eating out or pre-packaged too often. but I agree also that going out for a meal or two will usually make me crave my own cooking again, and get me excited about using the ingredients and techniques that I prefer.

Most of all, don't feel any guilt whatsoever about this. If I have time on the weekends I love planning out my meals for the week, but it's not always feasible. Planning meal by meal can be really freeing in that way. But for tonight, at the height of your slump-go out and get a treat, you deserve it!

Good Questions

I stopped drinking soda...I gave up fast food...I limit my alcohol intake...and I avoid overly processed/excessively packaged foods whenever possible. But damnit, I LOVE me some orange juice, and I just can't give it up! I am also a petite gal who gets rather faint if I don't eat something every few hours, and if no healthy snacks are available, I gulp a cup of juice and magically revive.

Seriously, I'd rather have juice than candy. MMMmmmMMMMmmm...

I just got a sewing machine for Christmas, and I'd really like to sew my own duvet cover as soon as I can find the perfect white and girlie sheets. I'm thinking I might improvise and just buy plain white ones and then attempt to sew some kind of ruffle on...we shall see.

Anyway, my question for you seasoned duvet makers: how do you purchase sheets to make them with as a far as sizing? I have a full bed, so would you buy queen sized sheets?

I live in East LA...good thing they didn't give your address or I would be knocking for a closer peek.

I joke! But really, fantastic inspiration for a fellow small apartment dweller like myself. Really well done!

Oh my word I literally gasped out loud upon seeing this. I am going to make it tomorrow! However I am allergic to pecans. Any suggestions for a substitute to add some crunch?

I love this! Just last night, I had 2 small chicken nuggets (best friend left her Wendy's in my fridge), chocolate Yoplait yogurt, and canned pears. Sigh.

But my absolute favorite lazy but probably gross dinner is any sort of leftover pasta smothered with a can of Hormel chilli. YUM.

Vitamini, I got one of those timers in aqua from Anthropologie. Same price and all. I love it!

And I WANT those milk bottles! I am a sucker for kitchen wares. Even though I still need a bigger bookcase and curtains, I cannot stop buying cute kitchen accessories!

Wow! We are semi-neighbors-I live south of you in Alhambra. Not only is it my dream to buy a house in Pasadena, but I'm pretty sure we have the same blue green coasters from Anthropologie-got them at the one on Lakes for $2.00 a pop! Yay, Pasadena!

Not only do I love all of your song selections, but I ADORE the reference to When Harry Met Sally. Also, I am stealing this idea for my blog.

the scene where Harry and Ginny were running through the field outside the Weasley's and Bellatrix was running around being nuts. I thought it was breathtaking they way they did the lighting and coloring! Glad to see I'm not the only Harry Potter nerd here!

i think the glam "girl's room" is ultra fabulous and light an surprisingly breezy with so much going on in a small space.

i also think if you can only make rude comments about how everyone is an idiot or spoiled or gushing...you should go elsewhere, maybe?

Fantastic MrFaux, do you truly mean lowest taste level, or different taste level than your own? I'm from LA, and I'd certainly categorize the styles here as "with more of a sense of humor" than many other places in the country...that's what I like about it.

i think it's awfully sweet but could veer into gimmicky unless you style it right. modern, sleek hardware, along with a super updated light fixture would go a long way. and if i was you, i'd hesitate to add too many black accents for fear of looking halloweeny. however, i love the idea of light grey walls, silver hardware, and a few robins egg blue accents, such as white a white and blue valance. cute!

i'd agree with getting upright chairs, armless would be great-but i'd go for an interesting color like a burnt sienna or amber. or, if you're really bold, purple! what a great find!
