I have an old railroad flat with few closets.

I need to make closets out of nothing at all.

I have a couple of wardrobe cabinets from Gothic Cabinet Craft. They're not pretty, but unlike IKEA's, they're all-wood.

When you're a little kid, home is the box the refrigerator came in.

Hopefully, it's not also your home as an adult.

My apartment came equipped with a Royal Rose stove that's over 60 years old. It's so solid, it anchors the rest of the kitchen. It's needed some maintenance over the years from repairmen who enter my kitchen and stare at it in awe as if it's the Stove God.

Kinda hard to keep it shiny and white, though!

As a tenement dweller, I love to see what people do with that type of space when they have a budget to renovate. I especially like the way you've created an entrance hallway.

Bon Appetit, which I end up buying half the time at the supermarket checkout when I'm hungry.

A few years ago there was a restaurant in the West Village, Mona Lisa, that used sewing tables as dining tables.

They didn't have the red chairs, though. They had upholstered and non-upholstered chairs of various heights, so you'd be sitting there talking to a friend who was three feet lower than you were.

"Put za candle back!"

There's not one idea here that I don't want to steal.

I even tilted my head to the side to see the vertical photos.

I am inspired, and leaning sideways.
