omg, i would absolutely love this! i'm trying to get healthy and my dinky 10 year old bike isn't cutting it anymore. it'd be perfect for me to haul up to my apt too!

I always use my reusable baggu bags, but when I need plastic to line my trash cans, I make my weekly trip to Target (they're more sturdy) without my reusables.

When I moved jobs from Culver City to Vernon, my commute from Beverly Hills was just not cutting it anymore. My boyfriend convinced me to try moving to Pasadena, and although I was EXTREMELY opposed from moving away from the west side, I have to admit, I've fallen in love with Pasadena.

Los Angeles as a whole seems difficult to walk, but I agree with Jose, if you're staying within your neighborhood, it's not difficult at all. I live in Pasadena (LA-ish) and I walk to my local Trader Joes/Whole Foods and to Old Town no problem.

Jose- Holy Moly! The USC main campus on Exposition? To Hollywood? That's like a 10 mile walk!

laetitiae - i have also found sprouting seeds inside my tomato before! i thought it was really weird, so i threw it out. the next day i did some research and found out it's quite rare for tomatoes to sprout, but are ok to eat.

Also, if you go to those sites daily and simply click on a link, they will donate a specified amount to the cause (something to do with the sponsors on the page, I think). It's great, because it will tell you how much that one simple click has contributed to each cause. Anyway, I've had the reminders sent to my email each morning, so I can help contribute daily to all of these sites. :)

I'm also quite sure this is an Asian thing where shoes were never allowed in the house. It was never allowed while I was growing up, and I was taught to take them off at other people's house as a common courtesy. It's weird to me that people would get so upset at a no-shoe policy. When my friends come to visit I always remind them that shoes aren't welcome on my carpet, but no one seems to mind.

The "authentic" way for Thai tea is to use condensed milk instead of sugar. Well, that's how my dad always made it, so it's the only way I like it. Also, Vietnamese coffee is used with condensed milk. I'm not much into sweets, but I LOVE condensed milk. I eat it by the spoonfull!! As a late night snack, I used to warm it in the microwave and then add Smart Start and milk. BEST. SNACK. EVER.
