I absolutely love it. The idea of being that organized makes my heart sing. One thing: is there a curtain to pull across the dressing area? Personally, that would drive me nuts to look at when I'm trying to fall asleep. But again, a personal thing. This is so inspiring! Reading these stories of jail-esque dorm rooms makes me so happy to go to Mount Holyoke next year! It's an all women's college, and they allow you to do anything to make your dorm room feel at home: nail things into the walls, remove furniture in the room and bring in your own, even take out their bed and mattress and bring your own from home! Not to mention that every common room has a grandfather clock, a baby grand piano, and most have a working fireplace. I assume these liberties exist because there is no threat of not-yet-matured boys on the horizon. Plan out one fun thing to do everyday. Whatever makes your friend happy: manicure, bar-hopping, museum going, shopping. When my boyfriend and I broke up it was boredom and loneliness that really took its toll on me, so don't let her have time for wallowing! Be Gone! In addition to all of the other wonderful things you have incorporated into your home, I am obsessed with the shelf behind your bed, sitting snug in the corner. Did you install that? your house is the epitome of all things i adore. fantastically well done. im so jealous. my favorite is the way the bookshelf and above art work are set up in your grey living room. it looks interesting and makes your space feel so personal. your house is fantastic, i'm totally jealous however.... don't you have any stuff? i got the feeling that everything, like the books stacked precariously underneath a small framed picture, is there to be looked at and not used. which struck me as not being practical if you were planning on reading a book there, for example. i dont know, that was just my feeling but still awesome house!!! love the last picture too! I think the floor looks great as is. Kind of goes with the muted wall color and plays up the understated appeal of the room itself. You should keep in mind this space is meant to work in, and anything too distracting or eye catching might make hunkering down and getting into a project a little difficult. Then again that sentiment could just be one of my own weird quirks. You guys did a fantastic job with this room though, I give it two thumbs way up!
