I agree with arroyo. The first step is always the hardest--followed by actually maintaining one's space and keeping it orderly.

Yeah, both look pretty comfortable, and just on this side of the "too-silly" line. I could see the lost-in-sofa in my living room. the sleepy chair, however would be assigned to the nap-corner of the bedroom.

Lizzz: An easy way to keep them bright is to wash them on cold with a cup of vinegar so the colors don't run. Also, if you wash them with other colors, you run the chance of complementary colors muddying the turquoise.

I agree with some of the posters here: Medium grey paint on the walls to match the tile, and white accessories all around. Get rid of the basket under the sink (and any wicker/brown baskets), but you don't need a skirt for the sink. Replace your toilet seat for a pure white one (you can get a simple, nice one for about $15). Keep artwork black and white, in black frames.

angelala and blandwagon: Who cares if they want to own a microwave or not? They're not condemning you for purchases. It's a great apartment, so maybe cut back on the criticism that ISN'T constructive.

Though I probably wouldn't "display" tampons in the bathroom (think, what might unsettle guests), you're probably safe using it to store something scented and visually pleasant, like those scented jelly beads in a long, low, narrow glass vase, or febreze flameless luminaries. A couple books of matches for the top section wouldn't be amiss, either... especially if they're in stylish boxes like these:

i love my cats, but kitty litter and frayed seams on furniture are the bane of my existence. not to mention, dust bunnies reproduce more quickly than real bunnies, if you have cats. you're a wise one........

Great, simply laid-out apartment, but I must agree with the majority of commenters. A few two many close-ups... and I'd like to see those french doors.

Maybe we can see an update of your lovely home, Vanessa, if you decide to add to the decor, paint, or whathaveyou. :)

That shower is amazing. Does anyone have any idea where someone could find it, or one like it?

I'd never considered owning a "claw-foot" shower stall until now...

I have under-bed bins, and having extra linens is nice when I have unexpected sleepovers, but I think I need to pare down my store of blankets and sheets. All the same, I would love to invest in a nice, deep blanket chest.
