I would definitely go with dark lower/white upper cabinets. We have done this in two smallish kitchens with great results. The white uppers keep things as light as possible and the dark lower cabinets "ground" the space. I think the grey would look great with the color scheme......a little warmer tone. Good luck! I happen to be one of the next-door neighbors.... I LOVE the house. (and the family inside) Although it certainly does not resemble any of the other houses on the street, it definitely "fits in." Every time I go inside, I'm a bit envious of the sleek, serene environment (and it includes 3 little ones under 5) Less is definitely more in this case. Less stuff, more time to play with the kids! We have a wonderful neighborhood and this house is a perfect addition. So much better than other area renovations with "stick-on" architecture or NO particular architectural style at all.
