Had a spicy tuna roll last night and as much as I try to appreciate people using mayonaisse in their rolls, it's not necessary. The spicy tuna roll I usually have at many places, do not use mayonaisse and I am very grateful for that.

On that note, I too have been wanting to try making sushi rolls, nigiri and sashimi at home. So when I sat at the sushi bar last night I finally asked the chef "what do you put in the spicy tuna roll? It is soo good!" He smiled and said "Tuna, sriracha, japanese chili powder, chili oil and that's it." I looked at my husband and said "That's it?! Oh I am soo gonna make these at home!"

So, for me no on mayo but for others, go for it! Either way, thank you for putting up this post. Hopefully it will encourage others to explore their sushi and knife skills at home!

Yes, this is all very sad. I just turned 30 and it makes me sad to know my little cousins won't see an original Nintendo, or know what it meant to stay at home and wait for the phone to ring or getting yelled at for streatching the cord on the phone! LOL Or what a real action movie is without a green screen! Thanks for the link, too funny but sad at the same time.

Thanks tiggerj! I appreciate the post and the linking! Think the hubby and I will take a trip this weekend to pick out our jars/containers. I've waited a week to put things away and it's driving me crazy! :-) Thank again to everyone who posted.

Okay, I've read and re-read everyone's comments and now the important question is: What type of containers (glass, plastic) and what brand/store do you all recommend? We just moved in to a place with a year lease, so we're not moving anytime soon, and I really want to organize our kitchen to the max especially when it comes to items we use often. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

PS-I am soo glad I found The Kitchn's site, I am in love with it!!
