Um...am I the only one who's confused? This kitchen shown in the photos doesn't appear to be the one described. Heath backsplash? Handblown light fixtures? Open shelving? Stovetop in the island? I don't see any of these. It's a lovely kitchen that's shown, but would love to see the one described in the article! Kitchen Renovations: Best Decisions & Biggest Regrets |

Yikes! I have to say I was disappointed in the windows. Waaay too busy, no visual rest, no focus. I voted for the window by Eileen Joyce as it was the only one with any room to breathe... I like gingergirl's idea. If that doesn't work, you could similarly build a box that goes across, along the ceiling, above the light fixture, from the wall that the meter is on, to, hopefully, another wall on the right side of the sink? It could still be made from MDF and have a piano hinge or some sort of access panel, but it wouldn't stand out as this weird anomaly sticking out of one wall, but would look more like something with a little bit of intention. It would bring down the ceiling height there, but might be an option if a cabinet from the top down the left side doesn't work. How to Cover This Awful Meter? I agree with those above who said to go with greys and neutrals. Anything complementary to blue (i.e. orange) will bring out the blue more. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Good Questions: Color to Tone Down the Blue in Sofa? |
