keemka is spot on. try to ignore the dentist and forget about it. she is still so little and it is of great comfort to her. she likely won't do it forever and she'll likely need braces even if she stops tomorrow so just let her be little, let her suck her thumb and just put a few bucks into an ortho savings account. ;-) (or you might get lucky. i sucked my thumb until age 7 and have perfectly straight teeth without braces or retainer. i mean, these aren't even her adult teeth right now so why does it matter!?!?) good luck with your decision. Right on LorienQ. I agree completely. And...the "guru" of sleep training himself now has gone on record to say that if he had had the research we have now on infant/child brain development and the harm of CIO he never would have done it with his children and he never would have recommended it in a book. Please just try to meet your child's needs as best you can without expecting him/her to behave in a manner that is not developmentally appropriate. We actually have this in my daughter's room. It looks really great and I love that it can ultimately be used in any room in the house. Wright's Peak Wire Horizontal Storage | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

GREAT idea. However, I can hardly believe the seller is using small buttons on this thing to secure it. While it probably would never happen, given the buttons are on the outside, it is possible for crazy things to occur and a baby could get a button in its mouth. If I were making these I sure as heck wouldn't want the liability of making a crib items with choking hazards attached. Perhaps the design could/shoud be altered to use velcro to secure it instead.
