I immediately thought blue. Bright blue with a little gray in it.

Daylight--I think that's a black lampshade. Looks like the light is really bright in there.

Is the sofa cb2 or Macy's?
Really nice job. J'ADORE the parking lot photo. Is the larger living room wall teal or dark green? Photos are not explicit enough to tell. Really like the three drum floorlamp too.
PS@dizz909--Really? How friendly and constructive. NOT.

How about a folding screen, maybe deconstructed, or a pair of reclaimed doors? The more beat up, the better. Be an awesome juxtaposition to all the sleekness going on.

I just bought very pretty thermals from JCP, by Cindy Crawford. They hang like a dream, which is something that seems to be hard to get in cheaper panels. I highly recommend them!

You need to think of it as if it were a train. Leave an aisle, and do small vignettes all down the outside wall. Cafe tables and chairs work well for this, but I also like the idea of pairs of theatre seats facing each other. Just make sure you don't get too crowded. You can do a porch swing at the "top" of the L as long as there is no door there. Just leave enough room so that it doesn't bash into the wall when it swings back. (Read: Children are SUCH dears.) Good luck, and don't forget the after pics!

I remember places like Bed Bath and Beyond doing big packs of dishes, flatwear and glasses for really low prices. Craigslist for sure. I bought a Noritake china set for 8 with serving pieces for $50.00 once, and it is in perfect shape.

Ikea has great patterned duvet covers for great prices, and also has amazing patterned fabric that you can make curtains with. (curtains, too!)
www.younghouselove.com has a great tutorial about making no-sew curtains. A nice area rug or two would help as well. Back to Ikea! And yes, you can put an area rug on your carpeting. Looks really great. You have a great start there. All best!
