I use it for chicken inasal -- native Philippine vinegar (either coconut or cane) is a must for proper inasal:

We use the IKEA Flackig colander to wash off the bath toys after a bath and then store them in there so the rest of the water will drain out. I think the key is to only have a few easy to clean bath toys.

I would be worried about having them do a custom print for me, given that they spelled 'Nagano' wrong... yikes!

Agree with @arroyo about "Eurocentric". (Europe is mentioned no fewer than 4 times in this post!) It's always one of my peeves about AT, this assumption that everything about Europe is inherently more stylish (and I even live there!) There's lots of inspiration right there in their backyard, and Milwaukee is actually a really cool city. Give the Europhilia a rest.

Milwaukee represent! (my hometown)
Love the cheese grater over the sink.
Also no need to seek inspiration from Europe -- this house has a lot more charm than a lot of European apartments (I've seen anyway) A lot of old Milwaukee houses are bungalows and in fact have a lot of charming features (if they haven't been ripped out). There's lots of inspiration right in the neighborhood. :)

I grew up in Milwaukee, so I'm happy to be seeing Milwaukee homes featured in AT lately. This one is beautiful!

I love how The Kitchn is featuring Filipino recipes lately! (And am so happy that non-Filipinos are trying dishes like sinigang). Oh, another Filipino classic I want to share: I just posted recently on one of my breakfast faves, champorado. (But then again, how can you not like chocolate and rice for breakfast?)

Thanks for the bibingka recipe as well. I've found that bibingka varies A LOT from region to region and even from family to family. This one looks great though -- I'm definitely trying it this weekend!

am with ADDled on this one: "Less" vs. "fewer" is a major grammar pet peeve of mine. Switch it to "fewer things" and I'll be as happy as a Dane.

Our fridge is the same size as the one in that house (I'm an American living in Holland.) When we first moved here, we laughed when we saw the refrigerator because it seemed ridiculously small. What's interesting though is that now it seems like the perfect size. We actually eat our leftovers and we have fewer things just rotting away to science projects in the back (this was a major problem in our fridge back home!)

We found out by experience that you need less room than you think you do.

Oh, and by the way, we have kids and both work so there isn't time to constantly go to the grocery store (does anyone actually go to the market several times a day as mentioned above?!). We go probably every other day or every third day and just buy what we need for the next few days.

A friend of mine made an amazing brie and apple pie. Sweet and salty together seems to bring out the best qualities of both foods. (I also come from a family that sprinkles salt on cherries and mangoes, so you can sense where I'm coming from with this.)

Ditto on the Helmer drawer unit. We have the silver one and I love all the drawers that keep the clutter hidden away. Also our bed is rather tall so it's the perfect height for a bedside table.

I'm not sure about the suggestion of the Bisley drawer cabinet above. It is really short -- only 13" high -- so are you suggesting that people mount it to the wall?

I agree with Lorena in SD that recipes for sinigang can be really varied. The vegetables in our family recipe are different than the ones you use (I like potatoes, no carrots, and like ajcolberg, I use sitaw, the 'yard long' beans). Also, I haven't heard of a recipe that uses the dried shrimp and tomato, so the broth in our sinigang is clearer as well. Fish sauce is the perfect condiment, so I would leave it out of the cooking phase and just add it at the table too.
My kids love this dish.

There's a chocolate shop here in Amsterdam that has chandeliers made out of milk bottles. I found a picture of it on Flickr -- they look a bit strange here, but are beautiful in real life: http://www.flickr.com/photos/yankeediva/3284962422/

Interesting that any company would invest in making a product for such played out technology. Maybe they are suggesting that you turn that ancient tower into a retro chest of drawers.
