Here' the Reddit post of the couple who own the apartment they shot Tom's place inside of. It's really neat to see the pictures of the set, cast and here about the experience.

I actually went home and washed down some of my baseboards as I was dusting. Just a damp towel. Thanks for the reminder A.T.

EVERYONE can line dry all year long. I do! I live in a 400 sqft condo and line dry to my hearts content inside. I have a retractable line I installed above my tub/shower. I mounted it to the front of the tub, added a hook on the opposite wall (near the middle of the wall), then a last hook on the same wall as the line, but on the back of the tub. Thus creating a V shaped line. Those two lines and the shower rod hold one load of laundry. I wash 1 load of laundry at a time and the clothes are dry in half a day (usually hang over night). It cost me $10 for supplies and has saved me $800 in the 5 years I've used this system. Now, the towels aren't as fluffy, but the cost savings is worth it to me.

I love my custom closet! It's just a reach in closet, but it made a world of difference. I kept the work to a local company and in a downtime like this, they were thankful for the work.

What a fantastic opportunity!

Oh, my current faucet's cartridge gave out and they don't make it any more. I would love to win this faucet to replace my broken one.

I would suggest a light celedon green. It'll play with the warmth of the cabinets and has some blue to work with the floor. It also looks fab with black appliances. No need to change everything out.

This is an incorrect use of the term Frugal.
From Dictionary.com:

1.economical in use or expenditure; prudently saving or sparing; not wasteful: a frugal manager.
2. entailing little expense; requiring few resources; meager; scanty: a frugal meal.

The only thing on here that could be considered "frugal" is the coffee press as it doesn't require electricity or a trip to the coffee shop. True frugality would be to find one used or live without.

Everything else is just inexpensive decor.

I think the updating and the whole light fixture is perfect for the space. From what I see of the bath, it has the same finish and it has both circles and squares much like the various other fixtures. The back of the light fixture, mirror, the wall mount of the towel holder and the outlet are square. The rest of the light fixture is round as is the soap dispenser and the ring of the towel holder.

so, from what I see you have a great set up there.

I live in a loft and have a retractable clothing line above my tub/shower. I doubled it by adding two hooks. One on the wall opposing the line holder and then another on the same wall as the holder. The holder and final hook are maybe 12" apart, creating a V shaped line. Along w/the shower rod for hanger items, this system holds a whole load of clothes.

Total Cost: $11. Total savings in the last 3 years: $175+.

I'm loving suavehouse113's ideas. Here's a play off that one. A large black bookshelf on the right. A black table on the left to catch stuff as you come in the house. I would take heat resistant paint and paint the red slate something more neutral.

I also agree about changing out the brass colors.

I'm sorry to hear about all your troubles. Where was the loft? West Bottoms or Rivermarket? Did you rent from a rental company or individual?

I am just asking because I live near by, Atriums @ Soho in the Garment District. I'm not looking, but I have friends who are in the market.
