How easy is it to take this off? I have this fear of removing paint in the process so I haven't tried it.

I would keep and re-upholster. But if you decide not to keep it or if you don't want to pay $360 to fix it, sell it. Someone would definitely pay money for it.

I've got under 300 s.f. My murphy bed comes out to the middle of the floor, which doesn't leave me much room. It looks rather open, with most stuff shoved up against the side of one wall. I'm still thinking it through, and I'm on AT almost regularly trying to come up with better plans. Not a lot of furniture or clutter, which is good. I've got things that could be better oriented or organized, but I'm not sure where that is yet. I like what you all have suggested. I've been here for almost a year and I realize it's a work in progress.

I didn't used to want white painted wall, now I'd gladly take them over the wallpaper I have now. It's way past its prime.

Ha! Just read about this earlier today and wondered if it would be brought up on AT. I'm a Robin Tunney fan. Gorgeous place!

I actually like both. :) Sort of a fan of the worn look, but the new looks just as nice.

I've left my luggage on the vanity in the hotel bathroom. Last time I traveled to see my mom, my flight was cancelled, so my luggage sat (wherever luggage sits when it goes out on the next flight) among other travelers. So I had nothing with me at the hotel except that little courtesy travel case they give you. Needless to say, who knows what that meant for my bags.

I too have suffered. Right now, there appear to be none, but I know the nearest campus to me suffers from an epidemic. I'm not surprised if our maintenance crew (?) cares enough to wear shoe protectors when they come through our place (usually by order of management for various reasons).

To S. in Chicago... I agree on it being one of the worst things I've ever encountered. You just can't forget. And yes, I'm very clean and I don't travel. I hope all of your worries are in the past. :)

If I were rich, I'd offer complementary pedicures at the door. ;)

I think I'd still wear socks if I went to visit someone. Now...I'd have to make sure they were really silly/loud socks. Gotta have some fun, right? ;)

Cute cat picture. I like the bird cage idea since there is almost no place a cat won't go if there are ways to get there.

This list made me feel like I should be slapping my wrist a few times. "You don't do this...You don't do that..." lol.. I know I'm not that bad. Plus, I'm like those of you who don't want to clean the shower after taking one. I don't find it gets terribly dirty if I wait a week between cleanings.

I don't... Then again, I work around stuff I don't want to bring in. Even before I had this job, I didn't. I knew people growing up who always left their shoes at the door (yes, Americans). Sort of inspired me, because my family wears theirs. I also take them off because they're less comfortable.
