the day the flyers arrive, I figure out what is on sale. combined with a list of produce I already have, I create a weekly meal plan. I usually make 1 hearty soup, 1 hearty grain dish and another dish depending on my mood. It also helps me combine recipes with similar produce (ie using a big squash in multiple recipes). I tend to use up veggie odds and ends in salads or bowls. The only times this doesn't work is if the weather changes, or I pick up some el cheapo unadvertised special on produce. It helps to have a well-stocked pantry.

I also do the google docs with my bf. We have a standard list and share our menus for the week to make sure we have everything to make them.

I've made these too and I loved them! Not too sweet with chunks of almonds. Perfecto.

I don't store pasta, but I store my beans and grains in Mason jars.

I have a pic of it here: http://tastespace.wordpress.com/2011/09/09/skillet-toasted-corn-tomato-and-anasazi-bean-salad/

I love bulgur! It is a quick side to a grain dish, but I also tried it out as the base for a lot of salads last year. This was definitely my favourite, a twist on Turkish kisir:

I also just discovered pea shoots this year... gosh, they are my favourite green! Sweet like spinach but the stems give them a nice crunch. :)

I tried quite a few savoury rhubarb recipes this year and loved them all. I recommend the Tofu with a Zesty Rhubarb Sauce highly. For a lovely dessert, the Baked Rhubarb and Apples with Earl Grey Tea, Cardamom, and Orange Zest

I made this and thought it was delicious. A great mix of sweet and salty. A bit indulgent so it won't be my go-to granola recipe, though.

I wrote about it here: http://tastespace.wordpress.com/2010/06/11/olive-oil-granola-with-dried-apricots-and-pistachios/
