Well, that link didn't work. Sorry, I'm not so tech-savvy. This one works:

Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Reusable Coffee Filter Vs. Paper Filter? Good Question

I don't know about cancer, but reusable non-paper filters can have an adverse effect on your cholesterol. We only use paper filters now, on doctor's orders.

Dear Apartment Therapy,

You guys post prolifically, so I usually overlook this, but I'm seeing it so frequently lately that I'm driven to comment. Please, please, please, learn the difference between its and it's. I am otherwise ecstatic about your work.

Thank you.

Textured ceilings for sure (someone textured on top of the beautiful plaster ceiling in my living room!)
and TV in the bedroom. Not really a design pet peeve, more like a life pet peeve. I just can't get behind it.

We chose the Ikea Rast nightstands for our room. They are so inexpensive, and quite versatile to finish. I painted ours with a thin coat of white paint but the grain still shows through and the overall effect is quite pretty. The only drawback is that they don't provide much storage, and none of it is hidden, but given that you have survived this far with only boxtops, it seems you could get away with it. If you're painting your room white, I would either just seal them as they are to complement the wood colour of your bed frame, or paint them quite dark.

I remember fighting with Ikea pieces in my college days ten or so years ago but I think either I've gotten smarter or Ikea has because I've assembled many of their furniture pieces over the last two or three years without ever having a problem. I agree with slowdown, it is very relaxing.

I had a bathroom with similar colours in my last apartment which I painted a sunny yellow. It definitely brightened the room and made it loads more cheerful, but I have to agree with bepsf -- it's really not ideal for applying makeup.

Definitely paint the cabinet white if you can. Ask your landlord, you might be surprised at the answer. I'd opt for a pale ocean blue-green for the walls (think tropical beach!)

Just to get this out of the way...

Scary, dangerous, vertigo, slippery, children, injury, generally unsafe, building codes, and I'd never have them in MY house!

Phew! Glad that's done. These are GORGEOUS. Thanks for the eye candy ;)
