Love the kitchen cabinets! Also love the purple room. I'm a sucker for the color purple, and I love it when I see someone boldly committing to the color i.e. painting the walls etc...

I agree with poetry. Try to use the space above the washer and dryer as temporary counter space. Or, you could probably find a cheap way to disguise them i.e. with plywood or something similar, that can easily be removed or pushed aside when you need to use them.

Since it is a rental, I'm sure you don't want to spend much money, but the carpet in the kitchen is no good. You could probably find a durable plastic to put over for the time being (I know I've seen it before),.. not sure if it would look cheap, but you might be able to find some interesting colors.

Now, is that a popcorn maker on the stove? I have one just like it,.... and I love it!

This is hilarious! He is funny. Well, in all honesty, I don't know enough about Zac to mock him too much, but it seems to me that he is onto something, sort of.

Maybe the "born ready" comment is hilarious to many, myself included, but some people will buy into it,... especially the kind of people that could afford to buy his expensive high-end fashion, and who are convinced that its oh so exclusive.

Its a perfect marriage of "faking-it-til-you make-it" and "any-advertising-is-good-advertising". My prediction is that many people will hate,... but a few will fall, which will be worth it for Zac.

Yes, I agree. I think its gorgeous too. It has a very modern feel for being Moroccan. Almost European. I love it when this sort of fusion happens, and when it works well. I feel its the way interior design, and our whole world, is headed really.

My parents are from Morocco, but I was born in the US and raised in the, strongly Moorish-influenced, south of Spain. There is a part of me, I find, that likes it when things stay true to their form. I suppose it makes me believe that I am getting a truly original version of whatever it is. I have had the tendency to apply this feeling to many things/experiences,.... music, food, decor, clothing, even remakes of movies I watched as a kid.

Over the last few years, and especially as relates to my business (I import home decor pieces from Morocco), I am really starting to see things so differently. First of all, the world is in constant flux; we are becoming so global, so worldly, so quick, so smart, so mixed and matched. It only makes sense that these sort of fusions happen, and, importantly, they are happening because people want them to happen. And that to me is open and beautiful.

It's so exciting to read all this talk about Morocco. I was born in the US, to Moroccan parents. I was raised in southern Spain (Malaga) and have always visited Morocco regularly. In 1999, I moved to New York City, where I spent 8 years. I recently relocated to Chicago.

Having spent a substantial amount of time living, and experiencing, three very different societies, the intermingling of cultures has always felt quite natural and genuine to me. I've always felt inspired to share my understanding and experiences, and it is this that has fueled the enthusiasm behind my new business venture, Moraco Imports, an online store that will be selling Moroccan home decor items by artisans in Morocco.

I agree with manofsteel, yes, there is plenty of haggling. I feel, however, that it has so much more to do with economics, and the culture of the poor, than anything else.

There is so much to say about Morocco.
