wowie -- i have the cleanest and most organized home i've ever seen and it takes me about 20 minutes a day to keep it that way. don't know who would even try to get organized if it takes more than that.

not difficult at all. just takes some ingenuity. answer -- one GOOD quality laundry basket and two small-to-medium trash bins ($1 variety) you can line with grocery sacks.

throw the whites into the laundry basket and throw colors into one lined garbage pail. cleaning rags to the second lined garbage pail. this will become second-nature.

if you're smart, you'll wear the same skirt or pants twice, changing the top and washing that top once, hang to dry and throw it in the washer the next time. get some suction hooks to hang your drip-dry in the shower. roll that drip-dry in a big old towel first. preferably the one you just dried off with. you were soaking the blouse (and that day's undies) in the sink while you were in the shower. roll them right up in that towel to half-ways dry them before hanging in the shower on the suction hooks.

if you're lucky enough to have somewhere to hang that towel, it helps to air it out.

you can use that same towel for shower and rolling for one week. you will have half the typical load of laundry cos you've been smart every other night. earmark three washcloths to hold about 1/4 the recommended TIDE liquid for each load. throw one into the basket, one into each lined waste bin, when it comes time to do your laundry. you should not have to do your laundry in a machine more often than every other week, if you are single. you'll have your sheets/pillowcases probably with your whites, your delicates in mesh bags, and your colors in two or three grocery bags.

you've recycled the grocery bags and can still recycle them using an unknown feature to most americans but very well-known to poor non-american folks -- you can use them as a dishcloth to tackle stuff you don't want your dishcloth to get messed up on.

i could go on and on. when it comes to organization and knowing way more than the average bear on practicality, i'm yer gal.
