First, you are funny! I wish you lived next door to me so we could fail at crafts together. Second, love the place and if you ever decide to get that green wing back reupholstered, try to find the same shade of velvet - it's gorgeous. Third, that baby doll head floating in the glass is way creepy. Dayana's Condo, a Mod-Macabre Mash-Up House Tour | Apartment Therapy DC |

So lovely. My favorite thing is the "paintings" of your parents (I guess I'm assuming those are your parents). So perfect for the space and so you. Julie's Cozy Vibrant Revisited House Tour | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |

Serious creativity to be sure. But, someone mentions their time machine and you don't think that warrants a follow up question? Call me nosy, but I want to know where she's going with that one. Cesa's Recycled Home House Tour | Apartment Therapy New York |

So in love. I would ask if I could move in too, but it appears too many before me have called dibs so, I'll just stare at the pictures for a couple more hours. Brian's Serenely Styled Sanctuary House Tour | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |

Love the glossy black trim. I agree that the artwork is most likely supposed to be uneven but can't figure out why - the difference is so small that it looks like a mistake and instead of staggered artwork. The Dastrup's Brass Is Back Four Square House Tour | Apartment Therapy Chicago |

Love the color of those kitchen cabinets. The house house is colorful, but restrained. It's a balance a lot of people seem to have trouble with but they nailed it. Rene Jerry's Sensational Single Family in the CityHouse Tour | Apartment Therapy Boston |

My some snippy comments today! Lovely, lovely home. I draw inspiration from as many sources as I can get my grubby little hands and big blue eyes on, so thanks AT for an off the usual track post. Kristina's Suburban Spare Traditional House Tour | Apartment Therapy Chicago |

If you can be patient, I would just start socking away money to have a professional slip cover made. I just had one made for my favorite upholstered rocker and it was just shy of $300 for the labor. I found up to a $200 disparity in pricing so shop around and check them out if you can. Take some rough measurements of your chair - height and width and call around to find out what the pros are charging for a slip. They should be able to tell you based on your measurements how much fabric you'll need (and what repeat if it's a print). What you can do right now is buy the fabric. Nearly every fabric store in my market has a major sale on fabrics in early spring so you can get some amazing deals. Fun Upholstery Suggestions for Comfy Reading Chair? Hang the rod right beneath the molding along the top and get them long enough to create a slight puddle at the bottom if you want an elegant look (to be avoided if you have a pet however). Hanging them high draws the eye upward. Also, if privacy is not an issue, just use panels and have them frame the window, allowing maximum light into the room. I would tape off a large square or rectangular section behind the unit you already have (just insure it extends beyond the white unit width wise), paint it chocolate brown and mimic the robins egg blue circles you have on the pillows on your sofa - or pick another design. It's a quick and inexpensive fix that will give that wall some impact and the chocolate will offset the white of the wall unit.
