I have seen some obscenely large bathrooms in old houses, which also didn't have a nice space for a home office, so I guess that's where this trend is coming from and possibly the house has another bathroom, making the bathtub basically a decorative element in the home office. I like it.

I never understood double sinks either, two mirrors I can see the sense in it, but sinks, really, is that necessary?

is there any way to sign to guests to throw TP in the toiler (and no in the basket) short of putting up a literal sign? I know some people have the habit of not throwing it down the toilet due to old plumbs, but my house can take it and I just find the idea of them in the basket disgusting.

I also much prefer the Good Questions posts looking for design ideas and solutions, it kinda makes me wish Apartment Therapy had a forum for this kind of stuff.

I think some people just don't know how to use the internet beyond reading blog posts. The "good" question the other day about the IKEA sofa... Is not so hard to check to check the IKEA websites of other countries or do a reverse image search, is it?

getting a bit annoyed that so many "good questions" is just people not knowing how to use google.

Love all the personalised IKEA, what a difference knobs can make!

Rachel, that's a IKEA butcher countertop and IKEA legs (Alex is the one with the drawers and the other one I can't remember the name)

I'm pretty sure peacocks are the new "it" animal (and foxes were before owls I think, and then came octopus... all you need is to check out Anthropologie)

@KendallAnne is actually from IKEA too, is called Trollsta

@vix vax, you got it, is not very high, is actually a "half floor" flat (all the other flats in the same building have VERY high ceiling), that's part of the reason I decided to decorate with "low" stuff

Hi, Julia here. I'm so happy to contribute back to the blog and receive so many compliments!

And I'm glad someone already linked to Olly Moss' poster, I'm a huge fan of his work: http://www.ollymoss.com/

The yellow open boxes (is actually a shelf/locker) was from a vintage sale at London's Conran. It was the very first thing I purchased in London and has moved with me through four different flats, always taking different functions.

The shadowbox is from a vintage shop, friends have speculated is a re-purposed toy train box.

I considered doing that to my spices a while ago, but I was afraid if I didn't screw one of the jars well enough, a terrible accident would happen.

Am I the only one so clumsy/weak not to trust myself with this kind of stuff?

I would never want to waste the space in a flat with a laundry room, I really don't see much sense, but that might be because I don't have any kids... And that also explains why I use the "kitchen space" more for laundry than cooking.

Thank you so much for all the replies!

I tried to fit every kind of double sofa bed in there, believe me, is just too tight.

I need access to the built in closet in the right wall because is where I keep a lot of things I need quite frequently.

Initially it was a reading room, but I noticed I never really used since I preferred the sunlight in the living room.

I really like the idea of putting a big roll of paper to transform it into a studio, but since the place is rented, I really don't see a way to do it without holes in the walls.

I seriously considered becoming a gym freak just so I could fill the place with gym equipments heh

Right now, I'm leaning towards making into a "japanese room", leaving the mattress in the floor with some big cushions around just to lie down in, with some small bookcases around (I would really like to find a thin bench that could fit near the block glass window)

again, thanks so much for the attention!
