I love the casual mess mixed with all the shabby chic collectibles. A bit of mess is... so real. Apartment Therapy Boston | Casual Vintage Displays at London's Sunday Markets |

Regarding the sink, if you're in SF, go down to Building Resources off of 3rd St. and you could probably find a lot of the pieces. They have a bunch of vintage sink basins and slabs of marble for low cost. You could have someone handy build you something similar with a lot of character! I would paint it a deep teal with shellac and put it in my art studio. Great piece! Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Good Questions: What Should I Do With This Coffee Table? |

Love it. And so much cheaper to do than the fancy Smith & Hawken wall hangers. Great idea! Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Woolly Pocket Gardening Company |

Tres chic! I love a deep rich wall... especially in a small space. It makes a smaller room feel cozy and roomy as the walls recede. Bright light rooms are pretty, of course, but in a small space white can make you feel like all the walls are coming at you and closing in. I used to have 2 cockatiels that were lost when my roommate accidentally left the deck door open. I did leave the cage w/ food & water on the porch for weeks, but they never came back. (It's unlikely that a bird will return once they're free, but it doesn't hurt to try leaving the cage out for awhile.) The upside to my story is that a friend saw one of my birds chirping up a storm in Golden Gate Park a few days later. I'm hoping that Pierre joined the Parrots of Telegraph Hill. You never know... Ouch, not a fan at all. (And why geraniums? They're about the easiest plant in the world to grow... maybe they should have done paper Gardenias.) Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Not a Green Thumb? Try These Geraniums |

I rarely like the way that sculpture is integrated into a personal living space, but this is certainly an exception. All the art and design elements are cohesive - what a beautiful space! Apartment Therapy New York | Frèdèric Mèchiche's Marais Loft |

It is a very cool design... but some practical part of me me wants to add a simple glass circle table-top. Would that be so wrong? I fear that my pens & earrings & little things would fall into the cracks between the logs. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | How To... Build a Birch Log Table PointClickHome |

I like the After MUCH better. And, I dig your daring mix of warm and cool greens & blues. Very eclectic, and it works! I feel like greens are always wonderful on a porch b/c they tie in with all the trees & natural vegetation. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Elissa's Pretty Porch-in-Progress |

How cool! I've seen the "topsy turvy" upside down tomato plants gaining popularity, but this is really unusual. Does anyone know of any less expensive models? Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Vertical Gardens from Smith Hawken |

Ooooh, I love the sparse use of intense greens here... but it does mean that you have to keep everything else in a room fairly neutral and bright to make it work. And, I'm never quite that disciplined! Apartment Therapy DC | Color Inspiration: Green Scheme |

What a great idea for old cigar boxes - I love it. You can also paint on them... Ed Musante does beautiful bird paintings on them and shows at Paul Thiebaud Gallery here in SF. It's by far my favorite color! I actually found a robin's egg in my garden last week and ended up matching it to my Benjamin Moore paint swatches. I found that the closest matches were Antiguan Sky 2040-60 for the deeper tone and Spring Mint 2040-70 for the lighter tone. I have a photo on my blog of the swatches if it helps to see a photo.
