ahhhh! i'm so glad you guys did a post on orlando! i live downtown and i absolutely love it.

lake lilly farmer's market in maitland is rumored to be the best farmers market at the moment. i have yet to go, though so i can't tell you.

orlando organics is a great delivery service if you live locally.
my sister works at the world food club on lb mcloud off of kirkman and they have some great finds there - including english imports. yumm.

lake eola has lots of weekend festivals and events where you can find some great vendors and live music completely free.

downtown, i couldn't live without publix, jimmy johns, the black bean cafe, dandelion, and ethos. oh, and the guy who sells vegan hot dogs on orange at 2am. amazing.

in orlando we have one downtown at lake eola, a newer one at the whole foods on sand lake, and one in celebration, but i'd say the best one is in winter park off of park ave next to the old train station.

Robynthegeek,

you're right - they tend to be a LOT more heavy than expected. luckily i'm in a high rise and my balcony is the same concrete construction as my apartment. i'm pretty sure i could put ten of them out there and it'd be fine. but if i was in a traditional two/three story apartment with simple decking as my balcony - i probably wouldn't be able to...

Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Simple Green: Collect Rainwater

i'm making plans to steal one of my parents large old wine barrels [no idea where they got them from but they've had them in the garage for ages...] and turn it into a rain barrel on my balcony. we get tons of rain in florida - so it will be great to water my balcony garden. we also get tons of bugs... so i'm going to cover the top with some kind of gauze or wire to try and stop bugs from laying eggs in there.

i'm working on this right now.

i've painted cinder blocks and planks of wood for the shelving. have not considered the pots yet - so this is probably a good option. although, i would probably want to paint mine. [i think i'm going paining mad...]

but really i wanted to comment so say i LOVE alpharetta georgia. visited my friend's family there a few times and i think it's so charming!

you could theme the paper to coincide with the recipient.
i.e. my brother is a musician - sheet music
my sister is a chef - old cookbooks / pictures of food
etc.
