The idea and fantasy about downsizing being easy-breezy and a sigh of relief seems a little too good to be true. Yes, you'll have less space to clean and maybe it will force you to live more modestly. But lack of storage and space will become irritating at times. We have only one
baby at the moment and live in a 1,100 square foot, 2 BR apartment, which is a great size. But the space can get tight. Our closets are overflowing right now and I'm CONSTANTLY purging and donating things. Then again, we don't have any outside storage. It would make our life much easier if we had bigger closets, more work/office space, and a slightly bigger kitchen. Ugh, a laundry room would be fantastic.
A pantry would put the icing on the cake!

The architectural details in this apartment are really stunning. I do love the art! However, am I the only one who thinks the design/decor should be improved a bit? Not sure... Is this a before photo of a makeover/redesign? Both rooms seem like they could be less cluttered and disorganized. The conversational area in the living room is very spaced out. I feel like I would have to shout to the people sitting across the large coffee table. Is the bedroom color a purply mauve? The way it's painted with the darker tone on top shortens the room. Wires are clearly visible, too many little trinkets on the mantle, and the bedding looks like it could be a little more loved. The colors of the apartment are bland and there's not much flow or continuity between the rooms. Maybe they're not the greatest photos? Overall, the apartment is amazing and the design and layout of the room should reflect that.
