My dog has her own bed (actually two, one upstairs and one downstairs), but she is such a snuggler that sometimes when I go up early to read in bed I will let her snuggle with me.

I'm surprised to read that people are cutting and putting hot pots on their granite counters because I was told by the construction manager (I bought a new construction house) that you shouldn't do that.

I love my granite counters. I have rented a lot of places and even owned a few homes, but I have never had kitchen counters that I liked as much as my granite. Tile is horrible, formica is cheap looking to me. I do like butcher block counters, but have never had them personally.

Wow! I have several different colors of Rub-n-Buff that I use for craft projects, but I would have never thought of this application. I may have to try this somewhere in my house!

My mom (who is very old school and refuses to even get a cell phone) was visiting last weekend and she asked me where my phone book was. I laughed and pointed to my laptop. I really don't want to have to find a place to store that big bulky phone book. Even if my internet is down I have a smart phone for access to any information I need.

@Patrick, I was wondering if anyone would mention The Ref! That was the first thing I thought of when I saw this picture! Great movie!

I have done this, so I have to answer "depends". I would not do this with a book that may have any monetary or sentimental value.

You could try these scissors. Theya re made for paper but they might work on fabric.

Wow, I can't believe everyone who is having a coronary over what is a temporary fix. I think it looks better than the ivy and from my prior years of renting I know what it's like to have to look at something every day that you find ugly. This is a good temporary fix until she can redo the whole kitchen. Relax, people!

Again I am at an advantage on this one, having moved fairly recently. I always purge a lot when I move and it's the perfect opportunity to clean out the medicine cabinet.

Last Friday I got a dozen red roses from an attorney whose case we just took over. I'm not sure that's a good sign for the case, but they sure look beautiful on my coffee table and I don't have to buy any for myself. lol

Kind of impossible for me on a work day, but I will do my best tomorrow when I'm off work. I'll be cleaning my house. I like to turn on Pandora on the TV when I do that, but I think I can go without just this once.

I am in the middle of a book and have another one waiting so after I am done with housecleaning I can easily kill time reading. Plus I have a whole room devoted to crafting, so I can go in there and spend hours at a time, although I usually have music or TV on when I'm doing that, too. lol

I did this when I moved a while ago. I still have room on my shelves. I try to only hold onto my favorite books that I will possibly read again and cookbooks and gardening books. My dad belongs to a book club and is always giving me books, so after I read them I put them in a box in the garage and when it gets full I donate them.

My first guess would be that this opening at one time housed an air conditioning unit. The house I grew up in had one in the same place, right next to the door to the garage off the dining room. If you own the house, I agree with sheetrocking over it.

I love Method products. I use their all purpose spray (lavender smells wonderful), dish soap, hand soap, granite polish and their stainless steel cleaner. I highly recommend all of them especially the stainless steel cleaner for those of you who have stainless appliances. It works great!

I just moved a few months ago and did a major purge, so right now I really don't have anything that needs to leave my house, but I do have a couple boxes in the garage that need to go to the thrift store (post-unpacking purge), so I will do that instead.
