BOLD COLOR! You need to find a way to take the truly dated and dark parts of the rooms, like the railing in the first photo, dark cross beam and walls in the second photo, and the curtains in the third photo, and you need to find ways to bright them up and update them and my recommendation is color. Check out these two apartment therapy posts, http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/paint-palette-portfolio-teal-kitchens-178297 and http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/bold-colored-countertops-178039 which have great examples with wood and older interiors that could give you some ideas. Also, look at the floors too, see if you can find a way to light the room that way. Also, out with the cheap-o materials, find authentic materials like wood, stone, and metal. Go used, rustic/rusty, and find things with heft and make them pop with color. Just some thoughts.

LOVE IT! And FYI, often people get around the minimum size requirements by making it movable; add wheels and those minimum square feet requirements go away.

After I clean, I lie flat on the floor and just day dream, picture what memories I can make in the space, and at the same time, envision what it will look like with my stuff inside. Really thinking about each place carefully.

More!
-Computer Keyboard & Mouse/track-pad (ring out a Lysol sanitizing wipe)
-Keys (Ok, more then a minute, but less than one minute for each key)
-Window Air Conditioner Air Filter (follow directions, mine is a plastic re-usable kind that I just rinse off in the sink and let air dry)
-Pick up clutter (especially dirty clothes, random papers, things to do; each can have a pile)

I also use to think, "I like my nest messy" and never made my bed. Especially while I was in college, my bed was never made because I spent to much time there sleeping, reading, watching movies or tv... but now that I'm working. I not only it enjoyable to leave for work with a freshly made bed, but love coming home and seeing it neat and tidy. After a stressful day, nothing makes me happier then sliding into a nicely made comfortable bed. Almost like when you first slide into the bed while on vacation!

As to the budget side, I use Mint.com as a way to get started, and am an avid follower of Get Rich Slowly. Making my bed, along with running, WeigthWatchers, and trying to improve my professional career all help make me feel fantastic, and that really tells me my mind is healthy. They all are indicators that even if life isn't perfect, that I'm still moving in the right direction towards a long happy healthy life. And in life, it really is the little things, like taking pleasure in making your bed.

Agreed, and living in NYC, I've seen some VERY tiny kitchens, I'd call these modest in size.

They are selling for $19 million, but I'd love to know how much it cost them from start to finish.

I VOTE FOR SKYLINE!

Skyline Eco-Adventures, LLC

These guys are awesome! I went zip lining through the canopy of a temperate rain forest in BC! It was a blast, and they talked all about sustainability along the way, their entire business is sustainable and they are a great way to bring adventure, education, and sustainability together!

And if you're ever visiting British Columbia, I'd highly recommend taking the trip to Whistler to see the sights and try their adventure out! It was amazing!

I've always loved the minimalist spaces, but they seem to only have limited appeal... maybe more people like the comfy cozy home-nest feel then the cool sleek simple look. *shrug*

I purchased the cup holders in a small holder, it was like $20 and my friends love it for their beers on my coffee table. Totally awesome!

I'd say any space can be made much more comfortable with the infusion of some small personal items. They don't have to overwhelm or anything, but just a little something in each room can really do the trick!

I like the chain link fencing. It gives the space division without blocking light or sound. Plus, it's probably reasonably inexpensive, or maybe even recycled! I guess I have a think for metal. But yeah, definitely love Storage Container Architecture! Want one!

I am in the process of switching over to a projector. I almost never watch tv, and I mostly use it for movies and the Wii. But it's my roommate's Wii, and once I move out, I'll just need movies and my computer. As for TV? Don't have time for that brain rotting stuff. Give me a good book any day of the week!
