The cord problem usually belongs to my boyfriend because it involves moving furniture that he made- he gets touchy about the way things are done and I don't like a backseat driver so I leave it to him! But this is a good time to do something myself and stop depending so much on him! @monyenoom I solved that problem in my studio by buying a power strip which has a remote power switch- you just put the switch by the door and flip it on your way out, and all the outlets turn off. It has a couple always on outlets in case you need to leave something on. It's pricey for a power strip but it's nice to be able to put it where it is out of the way.

I would love to hear what everyone uses to clean hardwood floors. Mine are oiled with a wax/oil called osmo, and while we love the satin, non-polyurethane, completely natural finish- they never seem to be completely clean. I've been alternating between Murphy's oil and mrs. Meyers all purpose cleaner on a microfiber cloth. But I feel sure that there's got to be something better- the Murphy's oil leaves a film, and the mrs. Meyers leaves them dry looking. Anyone?
