I just did this with my 2.5 year old this weekend, and it worked great! We just grouped similar colors together and ended up with maybe 3-4 oz of watercolor each. It was great fun to do for her, and I even used it to do a color mixing lesson. Now we have watercolors to use for 3-4 painting sessions. Thanks for the idea! I don't know what all the fuss is about with this post.

I'd like to have color-saturated photos too, like one commenter above. My problem is most pics are blurry in that setting (I use a Lumix). Any tips on making the colors pop without the use of Photoshop?

Love the ceiling (more than the book display)! I'm more an advocate of kid-level stuff

Hooray for this! I've been looking for something just like this for my growing toddler. Most of the stuff in Ohdeedoh are nurseries and haven't had much luck, so I'm so glad they've reposted this.

Another post to spur debate on Ohdeedoh!

I agree with the first few posters - everything in moderation. My daughter loves her books and non-electronic toys, but learned her shapes from a game on my iphone and her animals from watching baby videos.

The point I think is to have a little more variety on learning now and then.

I guess some homes are lucky enough to be dust-free, earthquake-free and have kids who are extremely well-behaved. My home couldn't have books piled creatively, unfortunately. I used to collect books, but after years of living with them I think I'll switch to a Kindle.

Great ideas! Especially love the last two. I put up a big magnetic whiteboard because we have all those educational magnets as gifts (animals and letters). Now there's a place to have fun with them! I also got those dry-erase crayons so my daughter could scribble and draw pictures to complement the magnets.

We live in tropical weather and, oddly, my baby was really comfortable on her bare changing pad. Sometimes she even falls asleep as I'm changing her on it! I guess it keeps nice and cool throughout. It was never sticky.

The lights make all the difference - what a great idea in a rented space! How did you put up the box shelves if you couldn't drill holes?
