Way to drink the kool-aid, plane jane. When I lived in Japan my roommates and I had a giant poster of then-Prime Minster Koizumi in our kitchen. There are some people trying to get the totally awesome Thai Sunday brunch at the Wat Mongkolratanaram Buddhist temple in Berkeley closed down, and it's the same thing. I can't find the article now, but I read a quote from some guy who lived in the neighborhood saying it was cool when he moved in, but once he realized it was every week he got annoyed at the noise and crowds. So, if you do not properly research the neighborhood you're moving into, you get to ruin things for hundreds of people who enjoy them. Good job! South of 40th is fine as long as you're also east of Telegraph. What you really want to avoid is the numbered avenues. Walnut Creek is nice in a yuppie kind of way (not that there's anything wrong with that), but it does get to be about a billion degrees in the summer.
