I have a mid-century dresser I got for about $25 at a thrift store. I love the shape, the quality of construction, and the hardware, but it's covered in a thin and damaged veneer. I think in cases such as that, it's no big deal to cover up the wood with something that would make you smile like this and get more use out of the piece.

Thanksgiving is usually just my immediate family. After cooking all day I often attend dinner in my pajamas, can't get more casual than that!

Art Museum/Fairmount is lovely with good shops and restaurants but really I would call it one of the LEAST diverse neighborhoods in Philly.

I have this Monday off. I started cleaning just one room and ended up cleaning my not-messy-to-begin-with for over 3 hours. I think I'll take off of major cleaning until this Thursday at least, my tummy hearts from bleach inhalation.
