I made some this weekend, but I think I over-floured. They taste okay, but were a bit too starchy, but they were impossibly sticky without it!

How about just getting it fixed?

Am I the only one who uses my cell phone as my alarm clock?

Other items: Stack of books I'm slowly working through, lamp, small jewelery dish for easy earring removal when I roll into bed.

I've learned to relax, but it wasn't easy. My bf's and my apartment is the best one for having meals with our group of friends as everyone else is living with roommates or in small studios. What started out as a every-once-in-awhile thing has turned into a weekly tradition of friday night dinners at our place.

I used to stress out about making sure every one was OK and it was exhausting. Now, people come over early and cook their dinner contribution in our kitchen (sometimes even making the main course) and I sit on the couch and drink wine while quietly observing from my vantage point that no catastrophes occur.

I think that breaking down the guest/host barrier has resulted in even closer friendships and has made our home even warmer than it was before. Sometimes I still have to take a deep breath before someone starts using my new oven, but if you can't trust your friends? Who can you trust?

Every time I go visit my parents in Portland, I swear I eat at least a pound Rogue River Blue cheese. They also use it in one of the salads at the Pacific Northwest fast food restaurant Burgerville.

I was so scared I was going to click through and see the beautiful original completely destroyed. Way to keep it classic.

I have trail maps from national forests and wilderness areas in Oregon decorating my living room walls. It reminds me of where I grew up and helps me feel like I'm still surrounded by big trees while giving some color to my boring, white rental walls.

What I really want to do is blow up some black and white photographs of early Tel Aviv bauhaus architecture. Maybe a project for the spring cure?

I LOVE this. I think I'll add a few loops of ribbon at the top and then tack it on the wall.

Ever since my boyfriend and I have gone back to school, our home has become the spot for all our friends to get together for potluck meals. I love it because it motivates us (i.e. HIM, *cough*) to really clean the house properly before our guests come over. At this point we all know everyone's favorite dishes so all our guests come with food we all like and can enjoy together.

I really like the newspapers with brunch idea - perfect for our non-cook friends to bring along with them!

Also, we recently signed up to get veggies from a local CSA and they get delivered to us once a week. We pay a little more for them, but it motivates us to make sure we use up everything we get and thus we throw away less food and also make fewer trips to the grocery store... so in the end we actually save money.

I was totally inspired by this post to make my first frittata this weekend. I used pumpkin from our CSA, mushroom, sage and goat cheese. Got major compliments from the guests... looks like I just discovered a new vegetarian main dish.

Apartment Therapy The Kitchen | Passover Matzah Brei

I just made our first matzah brei this year tonight. Sooo good.

I make it just like nikkimay. My dad taught me the rule of using one egg for every 2.5-3 squares of matzah. I also add a 1/2 tsp of vanilla to give the matzah a bit more flavor... oh and egg matzah is the tasties, but any kind will work.

Yep, that's my floor plan. I thought I had a brilliant way to rearrange the space and decided at 9 pm last night to give it a whirl. 1.5 hours later, sweaty and exhausted, I realize that the room is, in fact, much better set up in its original arrangement and then put it all back in it's original spot... just so I could sleep that night. I'm thinking now that I won't really be able to make any big changes until I replace some of our furniture pieces and add more shelves to the wall instead of having a freestanding bookcase.

I need to refocus my energy on decluttering and I think that will make the whole space a lot more bearable.

In other news, we bought a new mattress!! It will arrive next week and I cannot wait!

In Israel, all the major grocery stores are having huge sales on household cleaning supplies in preparation for the holiday. I personally love having Passover as an excuse to clean even though we eat bread all week.

Plus, everyone only works half-days throughout the holiday so it will be a great time for me to focus on Curing.

I am back from my trip and ready for work! I got a lot done tonight and am looking forward to busying myself this week with living room rearranging and oh so much more. I bought a Chagall print while travelling and I desperately need some help deciding how to frame it (having never had anything framed before in my life).

Anyway, I blogged all about it and would love your feedback.

All the best everyone!

I am so sad and feel like I am really going to fall behind. I'm in France for a week for work and last week I was so busy getting ready that I just didn't have time to do anything. Luckily, I think my landing strip is in okay working order, but I'm going to miss next week too!! Sad.

I have battled the kitchen and won! It really wasn't all that hard since our fridge and pantry are fairly empty. But it stills feels really great to check it off the list.

I decided to start blogging too!
