Incidentally the black cat is wearing a leash because I live in the middle of a busy a city and she has been known to leap off the deck and get lost. She isn't tied to anything it just stops her from jumping for some reason.

I actually always put tumeric in my matzoballs- it just adds a little something and it's good for you. I gets into the broth that way as well.

I do grow squash and pumpkins this way and it works just fine. I probably wouldn't try anything really huge, but I have gotten decent sized fruit without anything more than a trellis for support. It is actually an old trick for getting gourds with straight stems.

I find whole peanuts, walnuts, hazelnuts you name it. I thought I was going insane for years before I figured it out. My squirrel apparently buries way more than he needs too- because they are always sprouting come spring. I build little barricades with sticks which seem to at least slow him down.
