hello, this is eddie. thanks for the comments. a few answers to questions:

BB: nice eye on the judd.

siongchinchan: the closet is behind the wall with the bookcase. there's a small dressing room back there.

treehouse: no, i've not set up a curtain or divider of any sort to separate the bed space from the rest of the apartment.

Rob in PDX: the desk is just an industrial kitchen table and i cut the legs to make it the proper height. and the lamp beside the bed i found at a random antique store of sorts on mercer street just below prince in nyc.

protogarrett: the bed is from www.finnwooddesigns.com. it is a fairly simple piece and was not very expensive.

hello christina,
i asked this same question on AT a while ago and received a great reference which ive pasted below. the wallpaper that i had put up was a somewhat complicated pattern and John and his partner did a great, great job and were really cool. and it was a small wall and their fee was quite reasonable, too. e

from the earlier post:

I called John Fasano, tel 917.709.4747. John and his partner did a fabulous job; told us how to prep, how much to purchase, etc. Most importantly, they were on time, accurate with estimate... a rarity... I would absolutely call them again... Lovely work.

ha, every day i run past this building en route to the running path along the river. from the sidewalk one can see the ceiling of the front room on the second floor which has these great light fixtures that are the same as the ones that can be seen in the photograph of the kitchen. i've always wanted to know who makes/designed the light in order to try to buy one. any ideas? thanks!

also, just next door is Blue Hill at Stone Barns, which is an excellent restaurant. most of the food is farmed on the grounds. the building is quite literally a stone barn, which is gorgeous, and the interior is minimalist and beautifully done. definitely worth a visit.

hi Catherine,
not sure why some of the comments posted here have snarky remarks about your room when you've been cool enough to ask for advice on the room! you'll love having your own place, and every new place needs some work to personalize it. as you start to add color and your personal items to the room you will see quick and dramatic improvements. a lot of the sincere suggestions listed in postings above are fantastic. good luck and have fun with it!
