I've written a SUPER comprehensive Yard Sale-plannin' list here, if anyone's interested. The last large yard sale I did I made about $2000, the last small one, over $900.

Thanks, Birch. My friends and family have me print it out for them! Course, now I've been suckered in to helping my MIL and my friend into hosting their own. In my yard...but I'm into it. First dibs! ;)

I have some serious yard sale hostin' tips in a blog post I did a couple of years ago. Not trying to be spammy, but I think it'll be helpful.

Nice space! Does she have two dishwashers? (One covered in the same contact paper as the fridge.)

Holy shiz. There's a lot of negative comments here, and apparently a lot of those folks also have a problem reading entire posts. It looks great AND functional.
Good job.

Nice! That's WAY more counter space than I thought you'd wind up with!

It's looking great. Are you going to have enough prep space with the run of counter gone? I see that you'll have the area by the bathroom door (2.5 feet?) and the patch in between the sink and cooktop. That wouldn't be enough space for me to cut a tomato, but maybe I'm hopeless. (Quite possible.) I really love how it's going (although it sucks about the budget!) You must be excited. I can't wait to see the results.

I just realized how anal retentive I am as I was looking at the photos where the black Fintorp and nickel-colour Fintorp are used together. It looks so mishmashed that it's making me twitch. (I clearly have a problem!) But I do like the way it looks when it's done in all black. I have the Grundtal system in my kitchen, laundry room and studio, and theses are both great options for small spaces.

I love it. Two of my close friends had those wall tiles in their bathrooms (in that amazing 30's turquoise-y green colour, though) and they ripped them out to renovate. It killed me. I want to renovate WITH those. But I digress.

Your bathroom is incredible! Great job, love that you were able to rescue the sconces. They look so good, but I wonder if they'd look even cooler with Edison style bulbs.

When I was 5. My mom used to drag me to church and I was not a fan. I would redecorate the church in my mind to get through. I imagined what it would look like if it were my house...the sanctuary would be my living room, the choir room would be my bedroom, Sunday school zone would be my playroom, the gym could be the dining room....

I still want to live in a church.

Lampe Bergere? Works for us and we have cats. Also, some of those reed air fresheners are not-so-toxic smelling as stuff like Glade or Febreeze (blargh!)

I had a smallish sale (for me!) with really good stuff last weekend and made $1200. My last mega sale was a little over a year ago and I made $2000. It's all in the organizing! I wrote a blog post with tips for hosting a yard sale after last years huge sale. Here's the link, if you like.
