A steamer ~ I haven't ironed in 6 years. I don't own an iron or a board anymore. I have replaced the steamer twice though...TOTALLY worth it. I do want to upgrade to a retail fabric steamer in the next 2 years. I do reccomend getting the rowenta one though

http://www.shoprowenta.com/detail/ROW IS1430/Pro_Compact_Steamer

Conair also makes them

The Conair ones tend to die after 1 year. My first Conair lasted for 3 years, the second after they changed the style of it lasted only a year. Have had the Rowenta one for about 2 now. LOVE IT.. worth every penny. a GF just borrowed it as she bought some linen drapes & couldn't get the wrinkles out, worked better than she thought it would on them.

Now if you like creases in your clothing, then yes you need a board & a Iron.

Epiphone is a brand name ~ This is listed as an 1930's Edison Epiphone Cabinet ~ maybe it was used as storage for a recording or a dictation machine in some type of an office.

From what I can find they used to make amplifies for guitars later on it looks like the brand Epiphone was bought by the Gibson Guitar Company.

My parents got this a few years ago ~ They LOVE IT ~ It used to annoy me being on the wall like it is ~ but I am now so used to it being there I hardly notice it. It works great also, totally worth the expense.

I also fogot to turn it off already this summer I forgot it was on & the energy bill barely reflected my mishap I think the bill was about $6 higher than normal. Which isn't bad compared to leaving a window unit running for 48 hours straight...

We didn't get the toiletries bag when we took the overnite train from St. Petersburg to Moscow Am so jealous! The train ride really was one of the highlights of our trip.

stefanielutz ~ I was jsut going to post a link for the "I'm not a paper cup" also. You beat me to it. I have also seen them sold at the container store.

I do like the lid on the Aussie one better though. Yet it's not worth paying the exchange rate & the international shipping rate when you can basically get the same one here in the states.

I cut my landline, my internet, cable & cut the texting plan on my cell phone. I kept Netflix though. At the $15.00 a month for 2 films it really is cheaper than going to rent them at the stores. Redbox hasn't really set up this area as of yet (there's only 2 & they 20 minutes away from where I am currently staying.) so a $1 DVD option is pretty limited for me & also the film selection is WAY better on Netflix than at the local places.

I used to work for a used bookstore. I would travel to the biggest booksales between Wi, IL & IA with the owner to buy for the shop. We always had to pack the books flat. Not really sure why there is such a strong opinion difference between flat & upright on book shelves. IF the place has properly temperature regulation it really does not matter if they are flat or upright.

I was thinking a solid colored curtain would be the best also ~ maybe a yellow to accent the yellow tiles & possibly tone down the all of the blue.

I like the idea of getting a new tension rod also ~ You get a new rod at Target or Walmart for under $10.
