1. Ditch the curtains, those blinds are great on their own.

2. The table does not belong in that room. Its delicate legs do not match the legs of the couches or the ottoman.

3. I absolutely abhor the color of the accent wall, especially with the gray couches. I think that almost any color would be better than that one. Seriously, any color.

4. I would paint the railing and the shelf black, or stain them a dark brown.

5. Plants! They will make the room look more inviting and clean the air. Put one of two on the tv shelf and/or hang some vines. There is way too much sunlight here for you to not take advantage of it.

I agree with a lot of the other suggestions too, like switching the chairs and the couch so that lovely window light isn't blocked, getting a bigger rug, new art, and some pretty lighting.

I agree with the sell people. You're wasting your time hating a table that someone else would love to have.

my first instinct would be red, but that's more my style and i recognize that it's not for everyone. also, i see that there's a beige-ish wall right there and that would not work with red.

another look that would be great would be to paint the doors and trim a medium gray. if you can't afford to replace one or both doors, you should change the handle on the closet door so it more closely matches the handle on the main door.

AT, did you mean to call it a "celing" fixture? The picture makes me think you're talking about a ceiling fixture.

I would like to ask the people who support the idea of using the word 'flesh' as a color a few questions.

1. Are you white? (I'm going to go ahead and answer "yes" for you.)

2. Do you think people are being too sensitive in their responses to the use of 'flesh' as a color name? Have you considered the alternative possibility that you are actually being insensitive?

Thank you, that is all.
