a little vinegar makes all the difference for me, leaves a little tang on the egg. my egg is boiled high for exactly 3 minutes (my husband likes 4 minutes) then drained on a tipped plate and lightly salted after cooking. that and a sausage, piece of ham, or leftover pork and a 1/4 cup of microwaved frozen broccoli - the perfect low carb delicious quick breakfast! i've been on a breakfast burrito kick for a couple weeks. mine are made with whatever's on hand, but always have a couple ingredients: flour tortilla, salsa or taco sauce, and sour cream. with that can go eggs, meat, sauteed mushrooms and/or onions, cilantro, avocado, let your imagination go wild!!!! breakfast is supposed to be a hearty meal. dinner for breakfast makes perfect sense to me. i eat dinner leftovers almost every morning. only when i'm feeling under the weather do i actually eat any "breakfast" food at breakfast. eggs are the exception tho Leftovers in the Morning: Last Night's Dinner for Breakfast | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

LOL - everyone has the same crappy hood that i have! no vent, just circulates the smell around a little faster. i gave up on the vent years ago and just open the two windows for fresh air. sometimes the smoke alarms can be a hassle, hence why i'm looking into buying the kind you can mute. i've had yukky tasting ice cubes before and found that it was my plastic ice cube bin that was the culprit. i dumped out all ice, put 1/2 inch of warm water in it, and rubbed baking soda all around the inside of the pan. let it sit for a while and rinsed it out. no more yukky ice cubes! bring whatever you want to eat that you would be happy eating at room temperature and then just leave your lunch out. in the 3 - 4 hours that pass, your lunch will not go rancid. i eat stews, pasta dishes, meat and potatoes, etc., and it's always delicious. with a two basin sink, 1/2 - 2/3 full of soapy water. i put in the glasses and small items that aren't really dirty as the water is filling, lay out my drying towels, stack all other dishes into neat piles for placing in the water, then begin washing. i leave the silverware in the other basin to be prerinsed as i run water to rinse off the glasses. then the silverware all moves to the suds. wash them, leaving all in the dry basin to rinse in a minute. refill the sudsy side with bowls, then plates, then pots and pans in that order. if i have something that's above average sticky/greasy/etc, i leave that in the dry basin for the warm running rinse water to break down the particles. i dice them up small and use as an herb for things like tacos, soups, etc. as long as you cut the fronds in small pieces, they cook up nicely or add a little anise like flavor to a dish. they also go good in green juices. CHEESE LOUISE! the idea of a grilled cheese is quick, easy, and delicious. you can butter the pan like i do, and then just push it (or the bread) around to coat it. i'm a grilled sandwich pro, and i never bother dirtying a butter knife. cut the butter off with the spatula, slather it around, lay on the bread, then the cheese, (and tuna, or ham, tomato or whatever else), top slice, and a lid. before flipping, another dollop of butter, flip, slather the butter around under the bread. et voila - perfect, crispy and delish. one more thing - those who tried the recipe and didn't like the flavor - adding more salt made it perfect for me. i put in 1 3/4 tsp salt for 3 cups flour. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Reader Survey: Do You Still Bake No-Knead Bread? |

i thought you were joking until i read some comments! i cannot imagine my life before no knead bread. i like to eat good food, but i hate spending hours in the kitchen. no knead bread is the best of both worlds! i have a batch going all the time. i've made probably 50 loaves since i found the recipe in november 08, exerimenting with dill, rosemary, garlic, butter, cooking times, seeds, salt, or oil on top. my recipe has been changed to where i have eliminated some unnecessary steps and i time it so i cook it in the morning so it's ready and fresh for that day.
