my husband and I were just talking about this the other day. we both used to spend hours making mixed tapes when we were little. there's definitely an art to it and an element of creativity that you don't get by coming up with a playlist on iTunes, for instance. There was also an element of frustration when the tape ribbon would get caught and unravel in the tape player and you'd have to wind it back up, only to discover that the sound quality was just a little off.

Unfortunately, my children won't have this experience since they're getting used to our iPod...but to capture some of that nostalgia back, my husband did recently get a record player and we've resurrected our old vinyls from years past to share with our children, and it has been a lovely family experience (and for us, a trip down memory lane)!

agree with hnhkt. Fun idea, but coming from an area where we are indoctrinated to conserve water, this seems like an unnecessary waste.

do you have recommendations for family-friendly hotels / suites in Seattle?
