A beautiful well blended home! Love the tile work in the bathroom and in the kitchen (as I stare at my living room tiles and imagine a mega DIY project coming on soon). Spotted the "Masak Lemak Cili Padi" recipe - ini macam anak Negeri Sembilan je :)

Salam Malaysia,

Let me begin by saying "I LOVE CHILDREN'S BOOKS!" Ok, now that I've got that out, I would also like to add that I also still continue to buy them now at 43 years of age. My family always encouraged the love of reading and my father would buy me books. My all time favourite and not mentioned in any of the posts (I checked through all of them but could have missed it) is everything by Enid Blyton. I still dream of living in The Faraway Tree and going to Birthday land, which you can only go to when it's your birthday. I still have the full set of The Faraway Tree series in my collection, which I read from time to time. I also love all the Dr. Seuss books and my favourite is "Oh, the places you will go" which I give to friends when they graduate or are going through a rough patch in their lives. It never fails to uplift my spirits. For a more contemporary choice, I love the stories and the beautiful illustrations of books by Oliver Jeffers, my favourite one being "The Incredible Book Eating Boy".

My nieces and nephew love coming to my home because they all sit in a pile on the day bed in my library and read my collection of children's books that range in stories for the very young to teenagers. My favourite to collect are stories of dragons, fairies, magic, popup books and all that makes my imagination soar. Of course, I do have "grown up" books that I collect and read but nothing puts a smile on my face then when reading a story about magic.

Summer Recipe: Old-Fashioned Strawberry Shortcake

Hi! I love strawberry shortcake and miss eating it from when I lived in the States many years ago. Interested to try the recipe so could someone tell me what 1 and a half sticks of butter is equivalent to in weight measurements? Most countries don't sell butter in sticks! Thanks.

I just finished reading "Art. Life. Chooks." by Annette Hughes and enjoyed it. It's a true story about her life and how she left the big city and the high flying world of being an art dealer and then a book dealer to go live together with her partner (a poet) in the country and do gardening, living off the land, taking care of her chickens, simple cooking and making ends meet. Go read it!

And a recount is in order I think as there are definitely more than 7 grown women on this planet who haven't read the earlier mentioned book.

I think this home is amazing for its architecture, aesthetics, and for the people who live here making it look like people live here and love doing so. And that sunlight coming in through the windows and hitting the palms is really pretty... And let me not get started on that beautiful bedroom and bed. Everyone has mentioned the beautiful ceiling but I have to give a shout out to that beautiful terracotta tiled floor. Sigh...

Patricia's Second Greatest Home House Tour | Apartment Therapy New York

I was introduced to Apartment Therapy late last year by my lawyer who did the legal paperwork when I was buying my first home. Time and time again, I've come to this site to seek inspiration and learn lessons from others. I love reading the comments section but this is the first time I was compelled to post a comment. As someone who has been involved as an art dealer/gallery owner/consultant for the past 16 years, I can totally understand the continued contemplation of hanging his artworks. In my own new home, I have displayed, put up, arranged everything else and knew where I wanted to put everything. But still have not put up my art collection yet as I am taking my time to contemplate where I want to hang each artwork and see if they "belong" there. For me, bare walls to an art dealer is like an empty canvas to an artist. A world of possibilities exist. Also, when you look at art all day for work, I like going home to an empty wall.
