I love photo cards; it gives me great pleasure this time of the year to know that most days, I'm going to open the mail and see the smiling faces of friends and family (many of whom I rarely see). My kids absolutely love them; they spend a great deal of time looking at all of the pictures and asking questions that lead to many stories and much discussion. Perfect - this is so inspirational. Rarely have I seen a place with such a great combination of style, loveliness, warmth and personality. Heather's Pocket Skyline View Small Cool Contest |

I love that this place is lovely and stylish without looking like you tried too hard . . . (and that its appeal lies in how it is decorated, rather than in the architecture of the place . . ) Morag's Original Features Small Cool Contest |

We are in the process of cleaning out our public storage unit (as we have moved to a larger house with more storage space), and I am really going to miss it. It enabled us to live for a long while in a smaller house that otherwise might have been uncomfortably crammed (and was a lot cheaper than a bigger house would have been). (And as I go through the process of cleaning out the space, I am realizing that there is very little in there that I regret holding onto). Public Storage Space: To Rent or Not To Rent? |

While I understand the intial "ick" factor, and that these may not make sense for most people, I can see that they might be useful in some situations. We live in the city, and used to live in a condo with no backyard and neighbors that were not always tolerant of the noise made by running, leaping children on hardwood floors. During long periods of nonstop rain, or when one or both of my kids was sick and we couldn't go to the park, I can see one of these having been occasionally useful. I recently came across a study that involved painting one of the rooms of a number of houses in a subdivision pink, and leaving the same room in a number of other houses painted white. (This was in a subdivision where the houses were otherwise largely identical). The houses with the pink walls sold for significantly less than the "non-pink" houses - the difference was much more than the cost of hiring someone to repaint them. I have a friend who gets around town by pushing her kid in a stroller while she is on a skateboard. She's been doing it for years - says it's a lot faster, so it enables her to use the stroller at times that she would otherwise have to drive, and the kid loves it. We will definitely check out these suggestions, a few of which I am not familiar with - although I (as the mother of two girls) was also a bit taken aback that these were described as being "for boys." 5 Books To Inspire | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

I recently removed the cover from our B&B Italia sofa for the first time and had it dry cleaned. It took many hours to figure out how to get it back on correctly - the process was extremely frustrating. It now looks great, however, and I think (hope?) that now that I've done it once the next time will be much easier. (The instructions for this sofa do allow removal and dry cleaning). I like this so much better than most Wearstler-designed spaces (which I generally really, really dislike/ don't get). I would be excited about staying at this Viceroy. The Viceroy Snowmass by Kelly Wearstler | Apartment Therapy New York |
