I don't know what all of you consider good design but this show and now the Design Star are the only shows worth watching on HGTV...forgot Selling New York too. There are so many elements that I love in this makeover. And what a lucky family to get Ann Carrington art in their house.

I love the Novogratz family. I have their old show recorded on my dvr and still watch it.

Thanks for the links!

I grew up with the books and my son loves them too. We watch Barbapapa episodes on You tube in all languages:) Here are few games that my 4yo likes to play in english:

Also you can buy kids plates from Huset.

Elle78, I bought long sleeve T-shirts in the Fall from H&M(in NJ) but haven't been to the store since. I hope they still carry them.

I'm all about painting your furniture, windows or whatever but when it comes to mid-century pieces it's a big no-no for me. If you don't like mid century stuff, please sale it.

We move a lot too and lived in all kinds of floor plans and sq.f. places.
Only ones we had to have bookcases in our bedroom but it was big enough with walk in closet. In the bedroom we had only bed, chair, two small bedside tables and the bookcases with glass doors. Never felt cluttered.

If I have a choice I still preffer most of my books to be in separate room-office or guest bedroom.

Beatiful room! I already saved it for future reference and insparation:).

You don't need to buy exactly the same pieces to achieve similar look.
Oeuf Robin crib has similar design and it's a lot cheaper.
For the dresser Dwell Studio for Target have changing table in natural/white combination or you can hack ikea dresser, also at Ikea cowhide rug is only $200. West Elm round mirror is on sale for $69 and I'm sure there are options for cheaper glider and white throw:).

brianaost, my son room is all white furniture(and walls) and after 4 years still looks good. We have two simple rules - eating only at the table or in the kitchen and all the painting and crafts are done on his play table.

I grew up with homemade honey and this is one of my favorite breakfast/snack combo. In our house we also use honey on friench toast, crepes, beignets etc. I usually buy Kerrygold butter and raw honey but now I really need to find some french butter it sounds delicious.

Congrats!

My son is adopted and since birth until now(3y) the only things we need and use all the time are crib, dresser, little bookcase with few baskets, stroller and carseat. Everything else is just for short period of time and it's not nesessary.
Few books and toys in the beginning are enough, then you can add when the boys are home and pick up toys they like.
If you live in 2 story house monitor is usefull(we still use ours after 3 years), baby proofing -at least the plugs and stairs.
We didn't have a changing table or a foam changing pad, we used JJ Cole travel pad in the house too.
Before my son was born I made a list with the things I like or I might need and info about stores/online that have the best price , got a very little prior to his birth and add on as he grows.

Brittney, if you are looking into international adoption(we did domestic adoption), I have few friends who adopted with Gladney and are very happy:
http://adoptionsbygladney.com/
Price and requirements are different for the different countries.
If you serious about adoption there are books about international adoption, adopting an older child etc, it's a good place to start. Also you can get in touch with adoption agency in your area. Good luck!

Some companies pay their employers for relocation and often they just give them the money and don't care how they are used. Also furniture can be rented, returned to the store, sold...
We really don't know the whole story but I do like the space.

So, if all of the seven kids are adopted, is that going to make them an environmentally friendly family?
I am getting tired of all the preaching when it is and when it is not appropriate. It's selfish to have SUV and buy a new car every 2 years, to own 30 pairs of shoes, to have 2000 sqf house for two people, to buy bottled water and etc. It's not selfish to have kids especially if you can afford them and teach them to be respectful to the Earth.

I love the show, talented couple with beautiful kids.

This is in their old house( I'm a fan of the their show:)
I love Liam's room, minus mirrored closet doors. I like Stela's too but the window treatments are overwhelming and doesn't really match with the rest, also not big fan of the chair.

Nick, go get a drink!

Does anyone knows if the Ikea PS collection is going to be availble at all Ikea stores? I live in TX and none of the three stores here carry any of the new items. I really love some of the pieces but how to get them, ordering online/phone and paying the shipping is not an option, when I have that many stores within driving distance.
