I really liked your place. My first thought when I saw your picture and the bird perched on your finger was, "Hey, make a nest for that birdie in your beard!"

A little too stark for my taste but I like how you gave the TV a fireplace feel.

This reminds me of a second grade classroom my daughter was in; all the kids had square paper cubicle things on the desks. It felt like a work camp and was so stifling. We can't be creative in confined spaces, we need our minds to BREATHE.

I think there should be a rule that anyone who posts, "I liked it better before" has to also post a link to a project THEY did to improve something. Seriously, it takes some guts to put yourself out there. You can like something better before but at least acknowledge that people are making an effort. Sheesh.

Explain the drop leaf desk/secretary to me; is it built in? I love what you've done with the place, but even more, what you haven't. It's not even less is more; your restraint is stunning.

I love this idea and to help minimize the mess, they make foil muffin tins. Regular lasagne is just so, square.

I had a faux brick wall in my kitchen in my first house. It was kinda cool, looking back and that was in the 80's'......man, I'm old!

I also would like to hear ideas for how to hide ugly tile in a rental kitchen where you CAN NOT paint or remove the tile. Maybe bead board? Thanks!
