He is one lucky baby, to have such a stylish mama, make him such a fun room. I love that Madmen influenced you in designing a child's room!

is this article tongue-in-cheek? Seriously? Font hypersensitivity? Does that mean they wont grow up to make the mistake of loving comic sans or something?
I do however love the pillow.

of course lots of white...I think that may have been said. :) What about apricot (and maybe some ice blue accents)? Its girly without being icky pink and it still goes with pink in a fun way when it inevitably creeps in! (my baby girl has a blue room! I love it!)
I'm assuming the ceiling is white so a couple of up-lighting lamps to bounce that white around. What about a really light coloured pale blue rug?

I love yellow! I'm planning on incorporating it in my kitchen renovation. I posted a version of that 4th photo as inspiration on my own blog, just 4days ago! I can't believe all the yellow love here! Look out kitchen wall I think you've got stripes in your future!

amazing. For all the Aussie readers I was in Bunnings (hardware store for everyone else) today and saw exactly the same item and had exactly the same thought. 'where in my kids rooms or playroom can I put this?'! It would be perfect for storing toys.

At first I though, ooh nice, grown-up colours for girls bedroom, it could be beautiful but after seeing your comparison photos I think you might struggle to achieve that with that bedding. Those nurseries (which I love too) are quite stark, there are barely any patterns and if they are they are used in small spaces. That bedspread is going to be very dominant. Have you thought of still using the colours from it but maybe turning it over (I'm guessing the underside is more plain?)
I also agree with the other readers, buttery yellow or pale coral will help make it a little more girly. I think white will just look stark against that strong bedspread.
As for placement, we have a guest bed in our nursery too but we've tucked it away (as much as possible) so that the space still feels like 'her' space. Let the crib and other baby things take the prime positions.
Good luck!

I love your apricot climbing rose, do you know what it's called? I also love how you have a spot to sit in the 'vege patch' it looks like the perfect spot to picnic on what you've just picked.

They are certainly called lamingtons with an 'A' and are considered pretty old fashioned. I'm pretty sure every Australian child has sold them at school to raise money at some point in their lives - in a Lamington Drive. I'm completely amazed that this is a new food for you! Often they are coated in jam before they're dipped in the chocolate. I also think they would rock the american market. Have you seen Anzac Biscuits.... another great Aussie sweet!

As a photographer I have the same problem as you, hundreds of versions of the one shot. Keep the first one it looks a bit clearer and he looks happier. You could do what I do, keep a folder for original files (so you dont feel like you ever throw anything out) back these up somewhere other than your computer so you're not constantly tempted by them.

Then get ruthless. On your computer (make sure you back this up too), have a 'Finals' folder with dated folders. Copy in only your favourites from each collection. Limit yourself to one or two and if none are that great dont copy any in. Its easier to be ruthless if you dont feel like you have to totally delete the others, they will always be somewhere if you REALLY need them. I'm guesssing in a few years I'll have the guts to delete that file too! Good Luck. Culling is the key to getting a GREAT image.
