Lovely room. I would love to know where you purchased the bookshelf in the first picture. I am looking for something this size for my daughter's room. It needs something on this smaller scale.

Sorry, I said Medal - It was supposed to be metal. We bought the sticker story book version from Amazon. Not sure if I bought it off of the US or the UK site. Just an fyi - the Sticker stories are wonderful...keeps child entertained, she loves them. They are hard to find here and expensive, but my in-laws send them from UK every other week or so.

The Usborne book Going on a Plane -top row - third one in - does have the security information in it. We bought right before Christmas when we were flying to see Grandparents in England. It was great! Our 3 year old understood that she would have to take her shoes and walk through a medal detector.

Great Post. I Love these! I have two of the those listed. I would add Read with Me by SarahJane - etsy seller. Also both my girls have vintage children's book week posters in their rooms. One is by Richard Scarry. It has several of his characters from his books sitting and reading and it says "Curious? Read." The other is a Laurent de Brunhoff poster of Babar reading to his children. I found them online.

The print of the two kids in the tree is from Belle and Boo. It is an etsy shop.

I personally don't think that it is weird. I think that the art should be something that you enjoy and like as well as something stimulating for the baby/child. Both of my daughters have a Children's book week poster on their wall...different ones. I purchased them before I had kids. They each have a print from SarahJane (etsy seller) -different one. I really like her prints so I chose two and framed them differently. Then they each have an alphabet poster - again different ones, but they both have an animal theme to them. And they each have an oopsy daisy canvas picture on their wall...again different themes. I don't know that this would work but with my older daughter I moved the oopsy daisy prints that she had as a baby into the baby's room and then I talked to her about what she wanted. She was not yet three but she loves dancing and anything to do with ballet...so we bought her a new one...can you move the ones from the older child's room to the new room? And get something new for the older child if you want it to be different.

I love the tags!

lcg,
I feel like I am out of the norm of everyone I am reading about here. My girls are each getting two books, two wooden puzzles, and a pair of Hanna PJ's. The older one is getting a Bamboletta doll and the younger one is getting a wooden xylophone. We buy books throughout the year, some new, some used from a great second hand store nearby or the library book sale. My 16month loves to be read to and will bring a book to you and start to climb in your lap for reading. Both girls love to sit and just look at them so I never think of them as presents, I think of them as things they need. We do go to the library to check out books as well.

My other indulgence (for them) is art supplies, we have markers, paints, crayons, paper etc on hand in abundance.

Neither set of in-laws live close by so gifts from them are usually money for college fund or more books.

Lovely Idea.

Where do I find a necklace like the one the little girl is wearing in the first picture?

Last night I was at Target and I saw their version of the ViaBox. It is slightly smaller I believe than the real thing but still cute.

I bought one of these baskets to use when I had my first child and we love it. However the only downside is that they don't sell replacement covers...I was quite disappointed to know that in order to get something that went with my second childs room I would have to purchase a new basket.
