Where is the shed roof house picture on the top right from? How do I find more documentation on that home? Thanks!

I just love this rehab. What a difference! Great, great job. I hope you're enjoying long dinners in your new space. Great job having the guts to go 2 different colors as well. I could never had done that. Kudos.

Quite surprised at how this house divides the readers. It's LA. It's light. It's airy. It's modern. This house is a home run. The details could not be cleaner or more subtle. You can tell someone spent a lot of time in pursuit of this. Less is more. Beautiful!

Fantastic palette! 10 out of 10. Really fun textures, and I love the attic shot as well!

The 'wooden pallet-type' thing is an old dolly from a furniture warehouse/ plant. We have one and it was a disaster waiting to happen with our 2 year old, but am looking forward to bringing it back out 20 years from now. Restoration Hardware is re-habbing and selling them.

Don't quite get the fake brick wall either. Exposed brick walls are great if they're 100+ years old. Perhaps if they were going for a textural accent wall, a wall of vintage barn boards would have accomplished the same thing while adding a little history? Regardless, the vintage pieces really warm up the space and the dark floors look fantastic! Nice work.

Eljer used to offer the only corner toilet on the market, but are out of business. Now, American Standard has picked up the design and offers it for around $250. The problem is there are no upgrade options available whatsoever. Of course there's always the Kohler Hatbox toilet for $3k?

Looks like Home Depot Johannesburg had a sale on cream paint. Nice furnishings, and the hardwood floors are breathtaking. Otherwise, too big/ non-cozy.

This place is timeless. The dean of my architecture school has a home with this exact MCM 'feel'. Unfortunately, I feel that there will be less & less of these homes (trapped in time... in a good way) over the years. I guess what I'm saying is it was likely furnished by trips to Knoll; not DWR. It just feels authentic. Perfect. Thanks for sharing.

The house design is timeless (as in le Corbusier's designs of the mid-1900's). What concerns me is a presumably 220V air conditioner IN THE SHOWER!? I know this is about design and not life safety, but whoa. That'll wake you up in the morning! Granted, there is probably something about Tokyo electricity that makes this perfectly acceptable and safe, but wow. Great house regardless!

Um,... kudos to 'quietmouth'. If one doesn't like the idea of trying something out first, or spending $1,200 to test something, then don't do it. Great post. Should you decide to make permanent, then you'll know what to do next. If not, then you have a perfect template for a new planter bed!

How To Build a Quick Outdoor Patio

I would do this: Have some image super-sized (AT has posted on this in the past), and have it printed onto canvas that is stretched to a frame just slightly smaller than your opening. You can then take them with you to your next place. I would not get too 'busy' here. Just a nice black & white of a piece of sculpture, an old building detail, a vintage map, or something similar. That way you won't be risking your deposit or painting your landlords beloved shelves.
