I haven't found affordable LEDs yet, but did break down and purchased three of them to see how the light improved in my living room. I prefer the LED, but am waiting for the price comes down a bit more. I don't have any halogen because of the heat from the bulbs. My problem is small windows that keep my house looking as if it is dusk all day long even with white walls and beige carpet. I want color and I want light and airy feel in the room. I just can't find the balance between having all the lights on all the time and turning this off so my power bill comes down.

My husband and I just downsized from a 4 bedroom, 2 bath house to a 1 bedroom, 1 bath house. It meant giving away and/or selling 2/3 of our possessions, moving from the village where we had lived for all 25 years of our marriage and sharing a bathroom with family, friends and other guests. I expect to regret some of the things I purged, but so far, what I regret most is taking so long to decide what to get rid of. The move would have been so much easier if I had just picked out what meant most to me and then add a few things at a time until our new house was full (enough). I'm not sure what kind of anxiety bug bit me, but it is cringe-worthy when I think back to my indecision between which coffee cups to take with us. Coffee cups. My face is burning again.
