The meat eaters have told me I am not allowed to NOT make this mushroom pie. They love it!

@Parnassus, I actually keep Luna bars and granola bars in my purse for my husband.

We've dubbed his hangry alter-ego "Low Blood Sugar Man." I hate that guy.

This describes my husband perfectly. My favorite was when we were driving back home and he was really, really HANGRY. I said, "Well, we could get..." NO. "OK, we could get..." NO. THERE'S NOTHING TO EAT. I said, "What, in the whole town? There's NOTHING TO EAT IN THE WHOLE TOWN?"

And he answered, "THAT'S RIGHT."

We pulled off and went to the local diner/sandwich shop, where we got some soup down his gullet. After he recovered, I laughed and laughed.

If our cats weren't allowed on the furniture, how would they ever curl up with my feet to sleep? I ASK YOU! However, I don't count kitchen counters as furniture. Big huge no.

I have been known to gross out my family by putting malt vinegar on latkes. I'M SORRY. IT'S GOOD.

As a typesetter, I could furnish the entire house in this style. Fortunately my husband has asked me not to (with the exception of our new settee).

I have always wanted a red bedroom. Also, Miami's Elaine? I wore red at my wedding, and I'm not of Asian descent. It's just my favorite color!

While I love the look of the bowler hat chandelier, it would kill me to drill into the bowler. "NO! It should be on MY HEAD!!!!"

OK I am just about sold on the cabinet kit. Here's the thing: the previous owner of our house also painted the INSIDE of our cabinets. (I know.) Think I should use an ordinary paint for the inside?

But I MUST have the name of that green on the walls. MUST! It sings to my soul!

This has been a couple of days of non mid-century design...and I must needs say, I am absolutely in love.

I love magazines and print and always will. I keep magazines for a ridiculously long time, and cut out articles to keep in binders. Also, magazines are perfect for the bathtub with a glass of wine and a bunch of bubbles (yes, I have installed a reading rack in the tub. It's bliss, lemme tell ya).
