My current reason isn't on the list. With an almost 3 year old and a 9 month old, evenings are spent doing baths, reading stories, and giving a bottle. We have a ranch house, so even if the kids were in bed, a dinner party would be too loud for the kids trying to sleep. What Keeps You From Entertaining More Often? Reader Survey |

Ew. I grew up being told how dirty birds are. I don't know how accurate that was, but it's ingrained. Green Style: Found Nest |

Ikea has them. I found them upstairs near the cafeteria. There were splatter guard lids near them. Help Me Find Flat Universal Lids (Like Julia Child's!) Good Questions |

I've toured 3 daycares so far in Central Ohio. 2 of the 3 said they'd have no problem using the cloth. Ohio allows the use of cloth diapers, so it isn't prohibited. Some daycare providers choose to not allow them though. A Look Inside Cloth Diapers |

We're using a breathable bumper. I got one that closely matched the wood on the crib so you don't really see it. Alternatives to Crib Bumpers Good Questions |

Please donate excess breastmilk to a NICU. My daughter was born at 30 weeks and that donated breastmilk fed her there. As a "low-supply" mama, I struggled to produce enough for her, but I pumped what I could for 8 months. She also had about 200 oz from one of my friends. Unfortunately, she was mostly formula fed. 8 Alternative Uses for Breastmilk |

The Olympic paint was really thick and peely. My husband asked that I find a new noVOC paint for any new paint jobs because he doesn't want to use that one anymore. The Best No-VOC and Non-Toxic Interior Paints Shopper's Guide |

I agree about the declawing. Our cats get their claws trimmed every few weeks with a spare pair of fingernail trimmers. Even the mean cat tolerates it because she knows there are treats waiting. A DIY Green Solution To Cover Cat Scratches on Furniture? Good Question |

I know this is partly my fault, but if a specific ingredient needs to be prepared a certain way (chopped, chilled, etc.) put that in the freaking ingredient list and not just in the instructions. If I'm in a rush and haven't skimmed the recipe I don't know that the eggs should be at room temperature until it's too late. Cooking Confessions: What Are Your Recipe Pet Peeves? |

We have a well with an extremely high sulfur and iron content. I suggest getting the water tested to see what you're dealing with first. Our house already had a water softener, so to get rid of the iron, we just used a salt with an additive to combat the iron in the softener. The sulfur was a little trickier. We happened upon a used residential sulfur filter and picked it up for $50 (I think it's well over $500 normally). Before that though, we went to waterfilters.net and found an activated carbon filter and put it after the softener. The awful sulfur smell was GONE! We also bought a sediment filter from there that is reusable. No more spending $$ on paper or string based sediment filters. How Would You Deal With Extra-Funky Tap Water? |

My suggestion is the Sonno Prima Medium mattress from Design within Reach. We bought ours this Spring. I've never slept better! We took our old bed (old Simmons Beautyrest I think) to my inlaws' house to my husband's childhood bedroom. The few times we've stayed there since, it's like sleeping on a trampoline. We're so happy to get back home onto our awesome new bed! A Year in Bed: A Modest Proposal |
