I live in Austin and, although my rent is pretty high, I think that buying a house would be a pretty reasonable move right now. The Austin real estate market is holding pretty strong, but cost per square foot is down. For good info, check out Regent Property Group's blog</A> that is updated monthly to give the cost per square foot, etc in Austin.
